FAQs

Question

Where is Lucca?

Answer

Located in the central northern part of Italy, Lucca is one of the few remaining walled cities in Tuscany. The city is roughly ~14 miles from Pisa and about ~45 miles west of Florence.

Question

Getting Around

Answer

Lucca is an extremely safe historic city. Please see "Schedule" tab for more information on Welcome Dinner & Wedding Day transportation. Please see "Travel" tab for Car Service and Taxi recommendations. You can call taxis in Lucca, primarily by using the appTaxi app. Hotels and restaurants can also call them for you! Hailing them on the street is generally not possible. They are also available at major transport sites like the airport or train stations. Otherwise, everything you could want or need is within walking distance inside the city walls. Lucca's historic center is a "pedestrian's paradise" and is best explored on foot.

Question

Answer

Daytime is often in the low 70s°F, sometimes warmer. Generally sunny, but layers are recommended. Expect the evenings to be cooler when the sun sets.

Question

Mind the Grass

Answer

Fattoria Mansia Bernardini is a gorgeous property that is set on uneven ground in the countryside. Terrain is a combination of grass, as well as dirt or gravel walk-ways, sometimes with a mild incline. Ladies: STRONGLY recommend avoiding high-heels.

Question

Parking

Answer

Parking inside the city walls is for residents only. If you have a car, you must park in a lot outside the walls and walk in. It's possible to drive, but generally not recommended if you plan on staying inside the walled city. The historic center is a "Zona a Traffico Limitato" (ZTL), meaning traffic is restricted and unauthorized vehicles will be heavily fined by cameras. Suggestions for parking outside the city: - Parcheggio Carducci: A large paid lot just outside the walls - Parcheggio Mazzini: Very nice, underground parking inside the walls, accessible via Porta Elisa

Question

About the Venue

Answer

Fattoria Mansi Bernardini is a ~15 minute drive outside of Lucca's city center. The property has a history dating back to the 16th century when it was owned by the Bernardini family. The gardens that surround are a stunning blend of French and British styles, paired with an open-air theater from the mid-18th century. Today, the estate continues its legacy, producing the same high-quality extra virgin olive oil and wine, preserving its legacy as a working Tuscan farm and a historic landmark.
