Jayne hyped Paula up (and helped Paula hide her broken wrist) before her first date with Dax. And then Jayne crashed our 5th date. We thought about letting Jayne crash the wedding too, but decided maybe they should officiate instead.
Dianna McDougall
Ringbearer & Wedding Party
Dianna also crashed Dax & Paula's 5th date, and continues to school us both at pool to this day. It didn't feel right to put Dianna on one "side" of the wedding, so we asked her to be our ringbearer too and help be a part of the ceremony for both of us.
Warren Ersly
Best Man & Bro of the Bride
Paula's #1 (and only) brother. Find him hiking or biking up the nearest mountain and disappearing into the wilderness for days on end. Paula would like to thank him for returning to civilization long enough to join her as best man at the wedding.
Prissy Williams

Dax's big sister. Escape room champion, board game aficionado, expert cosplayer. Voted most likely to eventually inherit a dozen or so Chinese children. Can usually be found dog sledding in Alaska or relaxing on a remote African island (seriously).
Annalise Domenighini

Hardcore Dog Mom and fellow Tiki Bar Aficionado. The first friend Paula made in New York and still one of the best. Paula can't wait to belt out "Teenage Wasteland" with Annalise at some point during the reception.
Tori Williams

Dax's little sister. Firefighter, makeup artist, and mom to Thorin the German Shepherd. Dax's favorite person to harmonize with - however, she lives on the other side of the country and deprives Dax of the gift of her singing voice. Dax is not bitter about it. Really, it's fine.
Brittany Boxley

Brittany & Paula have been best friends since freshman year of college. They may live on opposite coasts now, but that doesn't stop them from talking about all the latest horror movies for hours on end or planning their next reunion, especially if that reunion involves wine tasting. Paula can't wait to be part of Brittany's wedding in October!
Alana Pate

Alana and Dax met in college - Alana was the alto section leader of the Louisiana College Chorale, where she repeatedly berated Dax for her inability to vocally blend. Dax has adored her ever since. Alana has prevented Dax from making many a bad decision over the years, and one time held Dax down and plucked her eyebrows the night before she was to make an appearance on national television. She's the best of the best.
Kaitlyn Rich

You can blame Kaitlyn for introducing Paula to Catan. A primary nemesis to this day, on top of best friend, former roommate, travel buddy and weird NY culinary excursion compadre.
Sarah Sutliff

Sarah owns New York City. This woman is a kick-ass theatre artist and the fiercest human being you'll ever meet. She hired Dax five years ago when she managed a bakery in Brooklyn, and the rest is history. Voted most fun to go O-U-T with (and most likely to dance on tables/various surfaces).

Paula and Sarah have known each other since freshman year of high school, and keep winding up in the same places, from UCSB to the East Coast. Nobody shares Paula's same affinity for Dominos Pizza like Sarah. If it shows up at the reception, you'll know who's responsible.
Zoe Speas
Wedding Party
Dax and Zoe first met in Abingdon when they performed with the Barter Players together in 2011 - Zoe played a wolf with a passion for interior design, and Dax played a brick. When Dax moved to New York a few years later, Zoe was her spirit guide. They spent countless hours singing along in piano bars, hanging out at Irish pubs/speakeasies, and crouching on the sidewalk on the Lower East Side in heels and dresses at 4am cramming dollar slice pizza down their throats.
Kylie Langlois

Queen of crafting, hosting NY Friendsgivings, and knowing endless facts about the ocean. Paula and Kylie met through the UCSB study abroad program on their way to Ireland and reunited after college, quickly becoming best friends. This year they're trekking back to Ireland together to play tourist some more, because why not?
Lauren Dunn Treme

Lauren is Dax's first wife - they got married in a production of Yentl in college, but decided to just be friends once the play ended. They met Freshman/Sophomore year, and from that moment on they roamed the halls of their conservative school, climbing onto rooftops, sneaking whiskey into the dorms, and getting into all sorts of mischief that can't be named here. One of Dax's biggest life goals is to live in the same city as Lauren again. One day it will happen!
