This video has a lot of what we already mentioned, but it also covers some of the great spots on the north side of the island. Some other food recommendations (near Stonefield, ~10 mins or less): Fedo's ( creole fish plate + creole fish n' chips= ~$20)- affordable and yummy! Alor Vegetarian Café- can get a lunch for two here for ~$14 (they got 2 burgers and chickpea sticks) Jen Mwen Voila Seashell P.S. make sure you have cash (small bills) for most of the excursions!
There is a free shuttle to this beach from the resort. This small beach is a natural, grey/black sand beach with more pebbles and rocks. You can rent beach chairs from here though and we hear it tends to be less crowded than the others!
This beach is open to the public but associated with Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Resort. They have imported white sands here and great snorkeling! There is food/ a bar but it can be pricey. Go early if you want a place to sit. Price: walking is free, but if you get a day pass (~$100) then you have access to the seating.
A smaller black sand beach associated with Anse Chastanet Resort, a sister of Jade Mountain. There is some great snorkeling and scuba opportunities here. There are also food/drinks available for purchase. Price: Free!, but you can also pay for a chair/umbrella
Make sure to take all jewelry off before going, it'll ruin it! & make sure you do not care if the bathing suit gets damaged- the mud will stain it! Bring a towel too, they do not provide them. Cost: $15
Many people go to the mud baths and then this waterfall. The waterfall is ~50 foot drop into a water pool- you can stand in this (chilly) one! There is an area to change, but you need to bring your own towel. Cost: $3 The walk from where you park to the waterfall is short!
This is a less tourist- heavy option vs the Toraille waterfall. There are some mineral baths here as well.
Hiking the Gros Piton is not for the weak! Some say it is more of a climb than a hike during parts of it. Distance: 3.2m, Duration: 4 hrs, elevation: 2,680ft (making it the second highest on the island!). You should have a guide when you do this tour. Cost: $50 (includes a guide) Note: there is a Petit Piton too, but we do NOT recommend hiking it as it can be very dangerous- especially in the rainy season.
You can do Yoga or visit the spa at the resort. We attached the spa brochure here.
