Dave and Tori met in 2014 at the Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics (CIDD), their lab at Penn State, where they hiked through the woods of central PA. Fast forward to 2017, Dave found out Tori was single at the going-away party. (Thanks to Justin for being a good wingman!) Dave and Tori's first date was a Marvel movie. Dave ultimately won Tori over by showering her with homemade brownies and calzones the size of a pizza pan.

In 2022, Dave and Tori took a trip to State College, PA to ring in the New Year with Rob (Groomsman) and Carly (beloved friend). Upon arrival, Carly and Tori started getting ready for the evening. Tori was planning on bumming it since it was cold but ultimately got dressed up thanks to Carly. Upon going downtown, the Uber dropped them off in the middle of campus- Dave was sweating at this point, but Tori was still aloof to the plan, thinking they chose this drop-off spot to save on the holiday surcharge. Every time Tori goes to PSU she gets a picture in front of the lab they met in and sends the shot to Dave. So naturally, as they were walking past it, Dave asked if she wanted to get a quick photo together. Tori still didn't think anything of it.... until she put her hand on Dave's chest. His heart was beating a mile a minute! At that point, he got down on one knee. ".... I love you to the moon and back..."
