She’s the kind of woman who inspires without even trying, shows up with her whole heart, and makes you feel like you can take on the world—even when you’re just trying to survive the warm-up. Her friendship has been one of the greatest gifts in my life, and having her beside me on this wild, beautiful ride means more than I could ever say. The honor is truly mine. From culvert laps in Auburn to tearing through trails in Nevada City, Bear Dog is always more than ready to dive headfirst into a mountain trail—or a rogue bike tire, for that matter. In fact, after destroying six bike tires (yes, six), Bear Dog now rocks a stylish face basket muzzle on rides. Around here, we just call it his “Hannibal Lecter look.” These days, Hannibal—ahem, Bear Dog—tears through the woods like a canine thriller character with a mission. And don’t let the ruggedness fool you—he cleans up sharp. Whether it’s a bow tie or a formal necktie, Bear Dog wears it like he was born to be in a wedding party. Loyal, hilarious, unstoppable, and undeniably dapper, Bear Dog isn’t just a pet—he’s the heart of the pack and the proud Honorary Groomsdog.

Calm and collected with classic dad vibes, he’s secretly the only guy who can still kick Dave’s ass (though he’d never admit it). Even though he’s all the way in Maryland, distance has never put a dent in Rob and Dave’s brotherly bond. Whether it’s trading bad jokes, sharing questionable advice, or reliving the incident with Rob’s Jeep (we’re still not sure how Dave didn’t get grounded for life), they’ve always stayed connected—no matter how many miles or fish lie between them.
