Things To Do

We hope you get to try a few fun things in the area while you're here. The fall colors will just have begun changing during this time. David's recommendation - scroll to the bottom if you're looking for an adventure!
Falls Park on the Reedy

Falls Park on the Reedy

601 South Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601
, (864) 467-4350

If you are staying in Greenville or decide to check it out, go to Falls Park on the Reedy. While you’re there you can walk around the downtown shops and view scenery (Reedy River runs through Greenville).

Upcountry History Museum

Upcountry History Museum

540 Buncombe Street, Greenville, SC 29601
, (864) 467-3100

If you want to learn more about South Carolina history and culture.

Table Rock State Park

Table Rock State Park

158 East Ellison Lane, Pickens, SC 29671
, (864) 878-9813

It’s where the reception will be! The reception will be in the lodge, but there is an entire park to explore. You can even hike to Table Rock—the park’s namesake (an 8 mile hike round-trip).

Fred W. Symmes Chapel

Fred W. Symmes Chapel

100 Ymca Camp Road, Cleveland, SC 29635
, (864) 836-3291

Also known as Pretty Place Chapel, this is where the ceremony will be. When the chapel is not reserved for weddings, it is open to the public and a beautiful place to visit and worship.

Swamp Rabbit Trail

Swamp Rabbit Trail

Raven Cliff Falls Trailhead

Raven Cliff Falls Trailhead

Geer Highway, Cleveland, SC 29635

There are MANY hiking trails in the area, and this is one option—a flat, 2.2 mile (one-way) hike on the road that takes you to the wedding chapel

Caesar's Head Overlook

Caesar's Head Overlook

If you’re in to beautiful historic college campuses

Henry's Smokehouse

Make sure you have Southern BBQ. It doesn’t have to be this restaurant—they’re all good :)

Tandem Creperie and Coffeehouse

2 South Main Street, Travelers Rest, SC 29690
, (864) 610-2245

Cute cafe in Travelers Rest, SC, the closest mid-size town to the venues

Asheville

Asheville, NC

If you want to stay in a town a little farther from the wedding venue but more touristy, check out Asheville, NC in the heart of the Appalachian mountains. You can drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway (or get to Great Smoky Mountains Natl Park in under two hours), go on a City Comedy Tour, or visit the Biltmore Estate.

David's Outdoors Recommendations

161 Holcombe Cir, Salem, SC 29676

If you've feeling outdoorsy, travel to nearby Lake Jocassee and rent kayaks to tour South Carolina's most beautiful upstate lake. Bonus points if you can make it to one of the waterfalls! If hiking is more your thing, travel to Linville Gorge, also known as the Grand Canyon of the East. Drive up the dirt roads to Wiseman's View or Table Rock Summit Trail, or (pro-tip) hike up the Shortoff Mountain Trail from Wolf Pit Trailhead for STUNNING views of the upstate and the gorge.

For all the days along the way
