Local Adventures

We love to hike and we love to eat. Charlottesville has some of the best of both! Here are some ideas for how to make the most of the long weekend.

Bluegrass Grill & Bakery

313 2nd Street Southeast, Charlottesville, VA 22902
, (434) 295-9700

Lines can be long, but it might be the best brunch we've ever had. Worth the wait.

Bodo's Bagel Bakery

1609 University Avenue, Charlottesville, VA 22903
, (434) 293-6021

Bagels that would make (most) New Yorkers proud. A Charlottesville staple!

Saunders-Monticello Trail

Saunders-Monticello Trail, Charlottesville, VA 22902

An easy, beautiful four mile walk just 10 minutes from downtown--perfect for stretching your legs before dancing, or walking off the festivities on Sunday.

Local Vineyards

Charlottesville, VA

There are more than 30 vineyards in the mountains around Charlottesville. Monticello Wine Trail has all the information and can help you plan out tastings.

Skyline Drive

Skyline Drive, VA

While you're in the area, check out the most beautiful road in Virginia and one of Liz and Dave's first adventures! Skyline Drive runs for 100 miles through the most beautiful parts of nearby Shenandoah National Park. Find the drive near Wayesnboro VA, less than 30 minutes from Charlottesville, and enter the park at the Rockfish Gap entrance.

Local Breweries

A self-guided tour of five local breweries with amazing views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Check out the tour or any of the stops along the way: Blue Mountain Brewery, Blue Mountain Barrel House, Devils Backbone Brewing Company, Starr Hill Brewery, and Wild Wolf Brewing Company.

Monticello

931 Thomas Jefferson Pkwy, Charlottesville, VA 22902,

Monticello is 15 minutes from downtown. Plan to reserve tickets ahead of time on the holiday weekend!
