The ceremony will begin at 3:30 pm on May 28th. Please feel free to arrive 15 minutes or so beforehand to get settled ahead of the proceedings. We ask that you arrive no earlier than that as we will be taking some of our formal photos outside with our photographer ahead of the ceremony. This will be a relatively short ceremony so please note that if you are late you may miss it!
Yes! We have many, many kids in our family who will be attending, and we love the fun energy they bring to an event! There will be a bouncy house, lawn games, etc for them and a big yard to run around in.
Yes! There will be too much food. We will be serving an Italian buffet, a full open bar, appetizer stations during cocktail hour, and a variety of desserts.
Due to capacity restraints and large families, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate additional guests beyond those named on your invitation. We appreciate your understanding!
Yes. Please reach out to us if there is an allergy we should know about. We'll be serving an Italian buffet with many selections including multiple gluten-free options. There's a section on our online RSVP for allergy information or you can email us at daveandalora@gmail.com
The majority of the wedding will take place outside including the ceremony and the dinner + dancing (under a very large tent.) The cocktail hour will be a mix of indoors and outdoors, and the bathrooms are upstairs in the house, but we've also rented bathroom trailers which will be located in the yard.
Not really! Try to avoid solid teal dresses as this is the wedding party's color, but otherwise feel free to wear cocktail dresses, sundresses, floral prints, jumpsuits, skirts, suits in dark or light hues, khakis, etc. We're good with anything! Be as formal as you want, but note that there will be lawn games and possibly a bouncy house so maybe ditch the heels and consider a pair of shorts under any dresses and skirts if you plan to bounce around. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be outdoors. We'll have a tent for the reception. There are cement pavers under the tent plus a wooden dance floor, but the ceremony will be on the grass. Hope that helps with footwear options!
Historically the weather in the Lincoln area hovers in the high 60s to low 70s around the end of May. The temperature will dip a bit at night so you might want to bring a jacket or wrap if that sounds chilly to you. We're looking at you, California friends!
We have a limited number of rooms reserved at both the Hyatt House and the Westin in Waltham which are located less than 5 miles from The Pierce House. All the hotels in the area are filling up fast for that weekend due to Memorial Day and Boston Calling, so we recommend booking sooner than later! For additional information click the Travel page above.
Yes, we are registered on Amazon and have also set up a honeymoon fund on The Knot. Both are available on the "Registry" page at the top of the website.
Renting a car or using Uber / Lyft / etc might make the most sense depending on what you're planning on seeing / doing while you're here. There are public transportation options to get from the airport to Waltham if feel comfortable navigating public transit in an unfamiliar city, but there are a few steps to it.
Yes, there is free parking available at both the venue and the hotel. For the venue, please drive all the way down the driveway past the big yellow house, and there will be a parking lot straight ahead. Our venue has also agreed to let folks leave their car overnight Sunday if there's anyone who wishes to take an Uber or Lyft back to the hotel and pick it up in the morning. We encourage anyone who will be drinking to consider this option!
We'll be using #TheyMightBeKitsbergs all weekend! They Might Be Giants are a favorite band of ours who hold a special place in our hearts. We've seen them live together several times and it just so happens we are getting married in their hometown!
