FAQ

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by July 1, 2021.

Question

What COVID-19 precautions must guests take BEFORE the wedding?

Answer

It should come as a surprise to nobody that we take this pandemic very seriously. We *strongly* recommend guests be vaccinated and ask that, to the extent possible, you're fully vaccinated at least two weeks before our wedding to ensure max protection. We're both fully vaccinated! If you won't be vaccinated, we ask that in the week before our wedding you get a COVID-19 test (PCR is more accurate than a rapid test) and make every attempt to quarantine/avoid unnecessary contact after getting tested. Please ensure your test is negative before you travel! If you're unable to do any of the above, we unfortunately have to ask that you not attend. We respect everyone's right to decide what's best for them, but we have to prioritize everyone's safety first. We love you all and there are absolutely no hard feelings if you don't feel comfortable attending.

Question

What precautions are you taking to protect guests from COVID-19 DURING the wedding?

Answer

Hand sanitizer will be provided throughout the reception, all vendors will wear masks, and we'll ask everyone to wear a mask in the buffet line. Weather pending, the welcome party, wedding ceremony, and cocktail hour will all be outside, and the reception will be inside a large, airy barn. We'll keep all the barn windows and doors open, and the ceiling fans on throughout the reception to promote air flow. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We absolutely understand the stress of deciding whether it's safe to attend a wedding during a pandemic and are more than happy to chat.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

If you're driving, please try to arrive by 4:45pm, as the ceremony starts at 5pm. The driveway is adjacent to the ceremony site, so if you arrive after the ceremony has started, you'll have to wait at the bottom of the driveway until it's over. Very sorry!

Question

How do I get to the wedding venue? Is there parking?

Answer

If you have a car, you're more than welcome to drive to the venue, which has ample free parking on-site. The venue is about a 20-minute drive south of Culpeper. If you're planning to drink or would rather not drive, we've also booked a shuttle. The shuttles will depart from the parking lot of the Best Western Culpeper (Wyndham Microtel is across the street) at the following times: 3:40pm and 4:35pm. If you're not staying at the hotels, you're welcome to park your car in the Best Western parking lot and take the shuttle from there. Later in the evening, the shuttles will depart from the wedding venue back to the Best Western Culpeper at the following times: 10:00pm and 11:00pm.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

While we wish we could Oprah this wedding and give everyone a +1, with COVID restrictions we have to be super mindful about how many people we add. Please only bring those listed on the invitation, but if we accidentally left out your long-term boo, let us know.

Question

Is Brood X invited?

Answer

No, we didn't think they'd fit into the overall ~vibe~ of our wedding. For the unfamiliar: https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2021/04/01/cicadas-come-out-2021-brood-x/

Question

Will you offer vegetarian options at the reception?

Answer

Yes! The meat options are roasted chicken quarters and pulled BBQ pork, but we'll also have salad, potatoes, mac and cheese, roasted carrots, green beans, and dinner rolls.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Who do you think we are? (Yes)

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love kiddos, we kindly ask that you not bring children under the age of 12 to the wedding ceremony and reception. If you're planning to travel with your kids and need help with child care, let us know.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

For the welcome party, anything goes! It'll be outside, so wear whatever you're most comfortable in. For the ceremony and reception, the dress code is semi-formal. We're thinking cocktail dresses, fun jumpsuits, slacks and dress shirts. No ball gowns or tuxes necessary, unless you're feeling fancy (or Irooni).

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Summer in Virginia can be unpredictable, but we can say with relative certainty that it'll be huuuumid. Over the last few years the temperature has ranged from 75 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit around that time of year. We'll just have to embrace the sweat stains. (We'll have plenty of water too!)

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors. The reception will be inside a large airy barn, and the windows and doors will remain open.

Question

Will Jonathan fall asleep at the wedding?

Answer

Probably. Boy's gotta nap.
