There are many beautiful and peaceful AirBnBs in Topanga canyon we would highly recommend! The area is full of trees, hiking trails and cute bohemian shops and health food stores.  If you prefer the hotel experience or something a bit closer to the ocean and within 15-20 minutes of the Inn of the Seventh Ray (which is not indeed a place to stay!) Malibu and Santa Monica offer some lovely options on the beach with pools and nice restaurants.
