Train
The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) “L” train is one of the easiest ways to see the city - and a true Chicago experience! The Blue Line (from O’Hare) connects to the Clark/Lake stop, which is a short walk to the Riverwalk and many downtown hotels. The Red Line and Brown Line both stop right in River North, at the Grand, Chicago, or Merchandise Mart stations. You can buy single-ride tickets or unlimited-day passes at any station using cash or card, or with the Ventra App on your phone.

Union Station is the city’s main hub for Amtrak and regional rail service — and it’s right in the heart of downtown! Union Station is just a short car ride or walk from many of the hotels and venues in River North and along the Riverwalk. Taxis and rideshare pick-up zones are marked outside the main Canal Street entrance.
