It was 6:45 A.M. on a cool Monday morning in September. Danning and I had each rolled ourselves out of bed to attend our Christian fellowship's morning fitness group. We were doing some warmup laps on the indoor track when Danning "overheard" (I call it eavesdropping) me talking to a friend of mine about my fall break plans to go to the outer banks. Conveniently, Danning was looking for a ride to the outer banks to meet her parents, who were already there on a vacation. On that ride to the outer banks Danning and I sat in the back seat while my friends drove. We talked for nearly the entire ride! After our talk I knew that I wanted to get to know Danning more. Danning was also somewhat interested but didn't think that there were any good single men left in the world and didn't think I would be interested. It was nearly a month until we next saw each other. I was performing my weekly ritual of stuffing my face with dumplings at UVA's famous dumpling truck, and Danning happened to be doing the same. For the next few days I returned to the dumpling truck half hoping that I would meet Danning there again, half to feed my dumpling addiction. On one of those days Danning was supposed to be meeting someone from her small group for lunch. Luckily for me, they never showed up and we were able to eat lunch together again "by chance". The next week I asked Danning to get lunch, and at the end of that lunch I asked her on a date. Since then we have fallen deeper in love with each other every day. We have gone on adventures together, hiked, cooked, made pillow and blanket forts, gone through difficult times together, laughed, cried, and everything else in between. We are deeply excited to continue our life together through marriage and to celebrate our love with you in May!
