Travel Note
If you prefer accommodations with more space, there are many AirBnb options in Oldmeldrum and Aberdeen. If staying at an AirBnb, we recommend choosing one that is in Oldmeldrum or near the Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel & Spa so you can easily catch the shuttle to the ceremony!
Flight
If you are travelling from the Pittsburgh area, we certainly recommend the British Airways flight from Pittsburgh International Airport to London Heathrow. There are 6 flights per week which leave at 9:55 pm and arrive in London at 10 am. From London Heathrow, there are a number of flights to Aberdeen every day. I recommend leaving enough time between your flights to get through immigration and security, as well as any potential delays from Pittsburgh. If you aren't leaving from Pittsburgh, most other major U.S. cities have flights into Heathrow. I would also recommend looking at flights into Amsterdam, as they have flights into Aberdeen too!
Train
If you would prefer to stay in London before heading up to Scotland, instead of going back to London Heathrow, you may want to take the train to head north. There are a couple of trains that head up to Scotland every day, you can get to Aberdeen in as little as 7 hours - but it will depend on how many stops the train has and if you need to change trains. If you need to change trains, it will likely be in Edinburgh - which I highly recommend as a place to stop and stay for a few nights! Edinburgh Waverly train station is right in the middle of Edinburgh, with lots of hotels nearby. If you book a train, please consider booking it in advance as same-day pricing can be expensive. Travelling on off-peak hours will make the pricing significantly cheaper too! There are other train websites you can use to compare pricing, but generally, Scotrail has the best prices (since Scotland is better than England): - https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ - https://www.thetrainline.com/
