Will I need to apply for a visa?

You will need to apply for an ETA to visit the UK if you are not a UK citizen. The website to apply is linked below. Please read the website carefully before applying and feel free to reach out to us with any questions! The cost per person is ~ £16. https://www.gov.uk/eta

Is there a dress code?

Our goal is for everyone to be comfortable and feel their best! We suggest anything from semi-formal/cockail to formal attire.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Answer
The ceremony will take place outdoors, weather permitting. Cocktail hour will be held indoors and outdoors, also weather permitting. The reception will be held indoors. We suggest wearing block heels, wedges, or flats in case the ceremony is outdoors.

What is the weather like in the area?
Answer
The weather in Scotland can be unpredictable. In the event of rain, wet grounds, or cold weather, the ceremony will be held indoors.

Can I bring additional guests to the wedding?

For the ceremony & dinner, only invited guests will be able to attend. However, starting at 8pm, anyone can attend the evening portion of the wedding for dancing!

Can I wear a kilt?
Answer
YES. We absolutely encourage Scottish attire - and yes, Americans you can wear kilts too!! If you want to rent a kilt, there are many places in Aberdeen you can hire a kilt for the evening. Underwear is optional.

Is there a registry?
Answer
No, having you attend our wedding is all we need - we understand how costly travelling may be for many of you. We’ll be moving later in 2025, so we wouldn’t want to risk anything getting lost during that transition. Your presence is what will make our day special!
