Flight

Recommended Airports

Our venue is in Umbria, located between Florence and Rome. The most popular airports to fly into are Rome (FCO) and Florence (FLR). While you can also fly into other airports, like Milan (MXP), please note that the train ride from the airport to the venue will be significantly longer.

Train

Trains & Public Transportation

Public transportation and trains in Italy are quite reliable, comfortable, and affordable. While you cannot take public transportation and walk to our venue since it is located on a hill, the closest station is Chiusi Chianciano Terme. If you are taking a train into the station of Chiusi Chianciano Terme, we'll be able to pick you up from the train station on Saturday, June 21 when we expect guests to arrive. If you take the train in on Sunday (June 22), please arrange for your own transportation. There is an Avis (Avis Autonoleggio - Chiusi) located next to the train station if you need to rent a car, but hours are limited. You can also take a local taxi company, prices are expected to be close to 70 euros for the ride. You can buy train tickets through Trenitalia (https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html) up to 60 days in advance. Tickets from Rome or Florence typically cost up to 15 euros. If you are traveling from Rome, Roma Termini is the main station. If you're traveling from Florence, Firenze S. M. Novella is the main station. To get from the Rome Airport (FCO) to Roma Termini, you can take a train or taxi. Please see here for more information: https://www.rome2rio.com/s/Rome-Airport-FCO/Roma-Termini To get from the Florence Airport (FLR) to Firenze Santa Maria Novella, you can take a tram or taxi. Rental Car

Renting a car

You do not need to rent a car, but if you expect to do your own exploring or want access to the nearby town where they have grocery stores, cafes, etc., on your own, you should rent a car. So if renting a car makes more sense for your travels, you can rent a car from the airport (Rome, Florence, etc.) that you fly into and travel to the venue from there. Note that in Europe most cars are manual, so keep in mind to specifically select an automatic car if that is your preference. Alternatively, you can take a train to Chiusi Chianciano Terme (about 30 minutes from the venue) and rent a car from there. Avis Autonoleggio - Chiusi is located near the train station. Note, the operating hours are limited so if it does not fit into your travel schedule, Florence & Rome airports both have full rental car services.

Travel Note

tips for Booking travel

Booking with credit card points can help you save on flights, and some credit card companies offer transfer bonuses to maximize your points compared to booking directly through their credit card portal. The Points Guy (https://thepointsguy.com/) is a really helpful resource to learn how to take advantage of your points. Some transfer bonuses can be found here: https://thepointsguy.com/credit-cards/current-transfer-bonuses/. This is also a good resource to search for travel: https://www.pointhound.com/. Tip - it might be cheaper to fly to another city in Europe, like Madrid, and then book a cheap direct flight to Italy from there. We aren't experts but we can help you out! Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or want some help looking for deals with your specific card.
