Ryan and Danielle met online in February 2015 on the dating app, Plenty of Fish. While browsing through the many profiles, Danielle came across Ryan's, with his goofy bio, photos with his puppy, and his love for crazy socks. Willing to give this guy a shot, she sent him a message. Later that day, Ryan, who had already given up hope with online dating, checked the app one final time before deleting it. It was there that he saw Danielle's message, "I like crazy socks too." This was how it started. When they met, Ryan was an aspiring Master's student that worked full time as a paleontological monitor. On weekdays, he lived in El Centro, and on weekends, traveled back to his hometown of Santa Clarita. Danielle was also living in Santa Clarita and was in the beginning stages of applying for dental assisting school in Pasadena, CA. During the first months of the relationship, they were only able to see each other on weekends. On multiple occasions, Ryan would fall asleep on the date. Yet, despite his bafoonery, they became a couple on April 19, 2015. In December 2015, Ryan moved to Redding, CA, to take his dream job as a hydrogeologist. In May 2016, Danielle followed him after graduating dental assisting school and getting her license as a registered dental assistant. Ryan moved to Redding with 2 pets in tow, Dedo and Sox. After Danielle moved up, she felt the itch to add a fur baby to the family. In spring 2017, they adopted their cat Aries (called Chicken because, why not). Shortly after purchasing their first house together, Danielle got the itch again to add another fur baby. In fall 2018, she pulled a fast one and adopted their third cat, Bea. In summer 2020, Ryan and Danielle moved his turtles from Santa Clarita to Redding. They had finished their zoo. It was at this point that Ryan decided he had procrastinated long enough; on September 6, 2020, in the midst of the COVID pandemic, Ryan proposed to Danielle, and without hesitation she said yes.
