Things To Do

Note that there will be a music festival happening downtown this weekend (aka road closures) so be sure to factor this in to your plans when venturing downtown!

Restaurants

Coffee: - Exo - our favorite! - Presta - Raging Sage Favorite Mexican food: - The Little One - Nick worked across the street from here (he recommends the burrito!) - El Antojo Poblano - our favorite food truck. - El Nene - great Sonoran hot dogs. - La Indita - what we’re eating wedding night! Other food: - Time Market - Danielle lived right across the street from here when she moved to Tucson and this was one of our favorite spots in town. They have coffee and really great food - our go-to order was a couple slices of pizza, Greek salad and one of their awesome chocolate chip cookies. - Heemee - Nick worked right down the street so he would go here often during work breaks. Order their breakfast sandwich. - Ceres - great spot for lunch (pasta, sandwiches, gelato). - Kukai - our favorite ramen in town. - Flora's Market Run - Tito & Pep (if you're looking for something upscale) Vegetarian: - Govinda’s - La Chaiteria or Tumerico (same owners) Pastries: - LeCaves - La Estrella

Hiking

Trails: - Pontatoc Ridge - Pima Canyon - Hidden Canyon - Ventana Canyon - Douglas Spring Trail systems: - Sabino Canyon (paved trail options) - Danielle loved running up the tram road through the canyon. - Sweetwater Preserve (dog friendly) - note this is different than Sweetwater Wetlands. - Catalina State Park - If you have time (and a car), make the drive up Mount Lemmon. Considered a Sky Island, the drive starts in the desert valley with cacti and desert shrubs and ends in the forest amongst Douglas firs, maples and aspens. We loved going up Mount Lemmon for hiking and camping on the weekends. IMPORTANT: It is very important that you always bring plenty of water on hikes. Wear a hat, sunscreen and comfortable shoes.

Shopping

- Old Paint Records - Wooden Tooth Records - Pop Cycle - MSA Annex - Bookman's - How Sweet It Was - ShopUp - Old Town Artisans

Bars

- Good Oak Bar (our favorite for cocktails) - Tucson Hop Shop (beer) - Tap & Bottle (beer) - Westbound (beer + cocktails) - Owl's Club (cocktails) - The Buffet (dive bar, cheap drinks, heavy pours... beware) - Hotel Congress

For all the days along the way
