The Wedding Website of Rachel Sloane Gillum and Daniel Evans Millwee
There are two main airports in Rome to fly into, either directly or by connection (depending on where you depart). If you have trouble finding a flight that works for you we recommend breaking the flight up and stopping in a closer country first and then connecting from there! Flying into other cities in Italy is another option, as their train system makes it easy to get from one city to the next.

Flight

Ciampino "G. B. Pastine" International Airport (CIA)

This airport is only 8 miles from the city center. The most popular way to travel to the city if landing here is by Terravision, a local bus shuttle service which has frequent departures to the Rome City Center, leaving every 30 minutes (online booking offers a special rate of 4 euro per ticket). Taxis from this airport to the City Center currently have a fixed rate of 30 euro.

Flight

Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport

This main international airport of Rome is approximately 30 minutes to the city center. Public transit from here is very convenient. The Leonardo Express (located inside the airport at Terminal 3) is a direct train to the Rome Termini station (the main train station in Rome). Tickets are 14 euro but if purchasing 4 or more as a "mini-group rate" they are only 10 euro. There are also airport shuttle buses, taxis, Ubers, urban trains and private transfers.

Travel Note

Airport Transportation

If you have trouble using Uber, taxis are also available in Rome! There are local apps like "ItTaxi" or "FreeNow" which you can download before arriving, giving you multiple options once you arrive.

Travel Note

Downloading Maps

Helpful tip - when traveling to Europe, most US phone plans don't include international data roaming, Wifi is essential. There is an easy way to download maps to your phone without having to use internet or Wifi. Simply go to your Apple Maps, click on your initials or picture, click on "offline maps", search your city, and then download the map. We highly recommend doing this prior to arrival, as it will help make getting around after you arrive much easier, without Wifi!
