Aloha! We are so excited to see you in Kaua'i! Below we've listed a few travel tips. It is important to note that having a rental car in Kaua'i is nearly essential to be able to navigate around. There are many options and it is often quite affordable to get a rental car. When looking for a place to stay, often AirBNB, VRBO, and other vacation rentals can be more affordable than hotels. We almost exclusively stay in vacation rentals on the island and always have a good experience! Our wedding ceremony and reception will be held in Lihue - the same city as the airport. There are a number of hotels and rentals close to the airport with only a short drive to the venue. We have listed off a few options below in Lihue and around the island with the approximate distance to the venue. We know traveling can be tough and we are asking a lot of you. If you need help or have questions, we are happy to help!

Flight

Lihue Airport (LIH)

You will want to book flights landing in LIH. There are non-stop flights from almost all major airports in California. Our favorite airline to fly to Kaua'i is Hawaiian Airlines due to the frequency of flight sales, direct flights, and ease of travel.

Rental Car

Car rental

We highly recommend getting a rental car for the wedding weekend. There are a number of car rental companies located at LIH Airport including Advantage, Alamo, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, and National. Often checking travel sites like Costco Travel and Kayak.com can be helpful for comparing prices.

There are many vacation rentals in Lihue the town where the wedding will be. Nearby towns include Wailua, Kapa'a, Koloa, and Po'ipu. If you are going to extend your stay or willing to have a longer drive to the wedding, Princeville is a great place to stay near Hanalei, our favorite place on the island.
