FAQs

The Wedding Website of Daniel O’Donnell and John Permann
We know traveling to Kaua'i for a wedding can bring lots of questions, so we’ve put together a FAQ list to help you get ready for our big day. Let’s make sure your trip is smooth, fun, and full of aloha! Please reach out with additional questions.
Question

A note about wildlife on the island

Answer

Kaua'i is home to amazing wildlife. Please respect the animals you encounter. Keep your distance from turtles, marine mammals, and fish. They’re protected, and touching them is illegal! Aim to stay at least 10 feet away. You’ll also run into plenty of friendly island chickens. They’re cute, curious, and everywhere. Please do not feed them. Get ready for some fun wildlife encounters!

Question

When and where is the wedding?

Answer

All the details can be found on our “Schedule” page.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive 15-30 minutes early so we can begin the celebrations on time!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by April 1, 2026. We’d love to know early so we can finalize all the fun details!

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes! There is ample parking at the Kilohana Plantation (where both the ceremony and reception will be held).

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Embrace the island spirit and dress to celebrate! Colorful cocktail attire is encouraged — vibrant hues, bold patterns, and breezy fabrics fit the vibe. Men can opt for lightweight suits or dress shirts (no tie needed), and women for cocktail dresses or festive looks. Go bright, have fun, and don’t be afraid to outshine us!

Question

Can I bring additional guests or children?

Answer

Due to venue and vendor restrictions, we have a limited guest list. Your RSVP includes everyone in your party who is invited to celebrate with us. If a name isn’t listed, we’re unfortunately unable to accommodate additional guests. We truly appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to celebrate together!

Question

Should I bring anything specific?

Answer

Sunglasses, sunscreen, a light jacket for the evening, and your best aloha spirit!

Question

Are you registered anywhere?

Answer

Your presence in Kaua'i is the best gift we could ask for! If you’d like to give a little extra, our honeymoon fund and a few favorite registry items can be found under the "Registry" tab.

Question

Where is the closest place to stay?

Answer

The wedding will be in Lihue. Staying nearby makes getting to the venue easy, and accommodations in Wailua, Kapaa, Poipu, or Koloa are all within about a 25-minute drive.

Question

We are extending our stay, what else do you recommend we do in Kaua'i?

Answer

We’ve listed some of our favorite spots on the "Things to Do" tab! Rent a car and explore Kaua'i from the beaches of Hanalei to Waimea Canyon. The island is full of stunning landscapes, amazing food, and friendly locals. Don’t be afraid to adventure beyond your hotel. We’re happy to share recommendations, so just ask!
