Map & FAQs

The Wedding Website of Charlotte Athanasidy and Daniel Herman
For questions on how, geographically, we got here, see above. The red places are places we've been together-- Ghostlight (where we met), Acadia (where we'll return to celebrate with all of you), Cincinnati (where we stayed together while Charlotte was between shows on tour), West Jefferson (where we ended our long-distance era together), and Boone (where we live now)-- as well as Rider University, where we're headed in the fall. The pink places are places that are important to Lotte-- Cortlandt Manor (where she grew up) and Manhattan (where she went to school, danced, and worked). The orange places are important to Daniel-- Marietta (where he was born), Fayetteville (where he spent much of his childhood), Pinehurst (where he graduated from high school), and Jacksonville (where his family now lives). Honorable mention to Boone also being Daniel's college town and longest-lived-place (8 whole years). For non-map questions, see below!
Question

How did the two of you meet?

Answer

We met at Ghostlight Theater Camp in 2022! We were both Teaching Artist Counselors, Daniel for his fourth year, and Lotte for her first. During Staff Training, during which there is only staff on camp for a week, there was a blackout. A bunch of counselors had been hanging out in Daniel’s cabin, and we all went outside to see if there was power anywhere else on camp. There wasn’t, but we quickly decided that we didn’t care, as the stars were shining brighter than you could possibly imagine! We all went to the Mini Amphitheater on camp to stargaze, and Daniel brought out his constellation-finding app. As Lotte had never seen stars on the horizon anywhere ever (see light pollution data above), she was super enthralled, and the two of us stayed out late into the night looking up at the sky. The rest is history! We had our first kiss a week or so later, and squeezed dates into our time off. We started officially dating on July 12th, 2022!

Question

What are you doing after the wedding?

Answer

Short-term, we will first be taking a mini-moon! We will be staying a little longer in Acadia and then hope to travel to Saint John, New Brunswick, which we traveled to as part of a trip we took after our first summer at camp together! Long-term, we'll be moving to either New Jersey or Philadelphia, so that Lotte can attend grad school at Rider University and obtain her Master's and Dance/Movement Therapy certification.

Question

Why Maine?

Answer

Maine was the original backdrop of our love story, and is the place we go back to every year together. We've hit so many milestones in Maine that it only makes sense to get married there and share it with everyone that we love!

Question

Who is invited?

Answer

If you received a Save The Date, you are! Any spouses, partners, or children who are invited should be listed under your name on our Contact Collector. This is a microwedding, limited by the group size rules of Acadia National Park, and so we cannot accommodate any guests other than those listed on these Save The Dates or our upcoming invitations.

Question

How should I dress?

Answer

We have attire suggestions connected to each event on our Schedule page! In general, please avoid wearing white or cream (unless you are a toddler, then anything goes).

Question

Can I use my phone and take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

NO! In the spirit of camp, our sanity, and being in-the-moment, we are having an ~unplugged~ wedding ceremony-- no exceptions. A photographer will be present, and will be the only person permitted to take photos. We will have wedding party members ready to take phones if guests decide to sneak pictures during our I-Dos, as cell phone photography would severely hinder the bride's and groom's experiences. (The reception, though, is free game for candid photography.)

Question

What if I have other questions?

Answer

Please direct any additional questions to danielandlottewedding@gmail.com. Pretty please do NOT directly contact the bride (she gets overwhelmed).
