FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We kindly ask guests to dress to impress—think wedding chic, not errands chic. For men: A suit is fantastic if you have one. If not, a collared shirt with slacks or dress pants works perfectly. Please skip jeans, shorts, and anything you’d wear to mow the lawn. For women: Dresses or elevated options like jumpsuits or suits are encouraged. The ceremony and reception will be outdoors on grass, so choose footwear accordingly. And while we admire confidence, white gowns or dresses are reserved exclusively for the bride. Thank you for understanding.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We truly love your children, but for this celebration, we are planning an adults-only event. There will be a very small number of children present who either have roles in the wedding or are newborns of members of the wedding party. These arrangements have been carefully planned with their parents to ensure the day runs smoothly. Our hope is to keep the ceremony and other special moments child-free to avoid distractions (the adorable but unpredictable kind). Thank you so much for helping us make the day as meaningful and peaceful as possible.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation lists a plus-one or names your guest, you’re all set! If it doesn’t, we unfortunately aren’t able to add additional guests at this time. We’re keeping the headcount intentionally smaller so we can spend quality time with everyone there. If space opens up closer to the date, feel free to reach out to Megan or Dane. Please know we can’t guarantee availability (we promise we’re not being mysterious on purpose, but this is Megan's attempt to be a *cool* bride).

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! Leavenworth, Washington is the closest town with a wide range of hotels at various price points and amenities. It’s about a 20-minute drive south of the venue. If you’re looking at Airbnb or VRBO options, Plain, Washington (where the venue is located) is the best place to start your search.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes—there is ample parking available in a large on-site lot.

Question

What's the weather like?

Answer

July in Leavenworth can be warm (sometimes very warm), with daytime highs typically in the 80s or 90s. Once the sun sets around 9:00 p.m., temperatures can cool off quickly, so layers are your friend. Rain is less common in July, but always a possibility; this is Washington. In the event of severe weather or wildfire smoke, the wedding will be moved indoors.

Question

Can I wear a white dress?

Answer

No.

Question

I'm flying in. How should I get there?

Answer

SeaTac Airport is the closest major airport, though it’s about 2.5 hours from the venue. You have two main options: Option 1: Rent a car Rent a car at SeaTac and drive to Leavenworth or directly to the venue. This is the most flexible option. Option 2: Take the Amtrak Train Amtrak runs once daily from King Street Station in downtown Seattle to Leavenworth. Take the light rail from SeaTac to King Street Station The train departs Seattle at 5:00 p.m. and arrives in Leavenworth at 8:15 p.m. Leavenworth has plenty of Ubers and Lyfts for getting around As of 12/28/25, a Friday–Sunday round-trip ticket is approximately $113 per person. If you’re flying in and planning to use public transportation, please reach out to Megan or Dane—we’re happy to help you navigate logistics. (Bonus points for not waiting until the week of the wedding.)
