Dane and Megan met February 2024 on a group ski trip outside of Whistler. They didn't speak much during the trip until the last day when Megan broke her foot and was unable to ski. Instead of snowboarding, Dane hung back from the crowd so she wouldn't have to sit alone for the whole day. They became friends that day, and the following August, Dane asked Megan on their first date. In February of 2025, Dane proposed at Schweitzer Mountain in Idaho, a spot the couple frequently skis. In May of 2025 Dane and Megan moved into a beach bungalow on Alki Beach in West Seattle.
