FAQs

The Wedding Website of Mandy Rynders and Dane Newman
If you have questions that aren't already answered here, please reach out to Mandy, Dane, or Chloe (MOH) leading up to the wedding or Maya (our fabulous day-of-coordinator) if it is on the day of the wedding.
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We are kindly asking our guests to wear cocktail attire in "earth tones" to our wedding, as we feel it will create a cohesive and unique vibe for our photos. A sample color palette is at the top of this page, but think of neutral/non-bright shades pinks, greens, blues, greys, beiges, rust, etc. If you're in doubt, please feel free to text the bride or maid-of-honor a photo. LADIES – feel free to wear light and airy fabrics, dresses in any length, light prints, muted colors, and nothing too dark (black being an exception) or too close to white. Don't forget the ceremony takes place on grass and the ground at the ceremony site is slightly uneven. GENTS – feel free to wear lighter colored or black suits, light fabrics such as linen, a white or other light-colored button down with or without a tie, sport coats, khakis, etc.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please RSVP through the wedding website no later than March 17, 2023. Don't forget to complete Mandy & Dane's Wedding Questionnaire (emailed separately after you RSVP) to provide feedback for your food choices and transportation needs.

Question

Will there be transportation accommodations on the wedding day?

Answer

We are working on arranging transportation from the hotel to the ceremony and from the ceremony to the reception venue. Please let us know if you will need transportation by completing Mandy & Dane's Wedding Questionnaire (emailed separately after you RSVP) so we can schedule shuttles accordingly.

Question

Will there be any vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, or special diet options?

Answer

Vegetarians can eat the queso mac, the salads, and various items on the grazing table. The salads can be made dairy-free, and there will be gluten free crackers on the grazing table. We'll also have an egg and gluten-free dessert option at the dessert table. But please do let us know if you have any allergies or food sensitivities so we can be sure to accommodate those and you don't go hungry!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

Children are only allowed at the short ceremony. We love your little ones but want you to let loose and be present to celebrate with us at our reception. So, unless they were included on the invitation, we'd appreciate you arranging a sitter for the reception at minimum. Please let us know if you need help arranging local childcare!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says "and Guest" then yes. If not, we would prefer to celebrate with just you. If you have any questions or concerns about your invitation, please let us know.

Question

What time should I be there?

Answer

The ceremony will begin for all guests around 4:30 PM and there will be a champagne and popcorn cocktail hour immediately following. Please arrive on time but not more than 15-20 minutes beforehand. The reception venue is located ~15 minutes from Hoyt Arboretum. Both the grazing table and BBQ buffet will be setup upon arrival. The reception will begin around 6:30 PM and end around 10:00 PM. Once we have more information regarding our guest's transportation needs, we will provide additional details regarding shuttles.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Well...it depends. It is true Portland does get a lot of rain, which is why our state is so green, but for the past five (5) years the weather on June 29th has ranged from 74° to 92° with an average of 80°. Temps are generally pretty mild with low humidity during the early summer days and don't (typically) drop drastically at night.
