Alyssa and Dane met at Service High School in Anchorage, Alaska in August of 2017. They had Biology class together and on the second day, were paired together by the draw of popsicle sticks. Alyssa told the third member of the group that she thought Dane was cute. Dane was telling one of his best friends, Jean, that he thought Alyssa was cute. After a few months of talking, Dane gained the courage to invite Alyssa to his wrestling match. Alyssa went, where she met his mother, Angie. One week later, on November 20, 2017, Dane finally asked Alyssa to be his girlfriend (over text).

Dane and Alyssa were together for three out of four years in high school. In their Junior and Senior years, they even changed their class schedules to spend more time together. Dane and Alyssa went to their junior prom together. In their Senior year, they won the Cutest Couple award in the yearbook! While neither of them enjoyed high school, both are very thankful to have met each other and love sharing their story about Biology class. They recently ran into their biology teacher and were excited to share that they were getting married! She was excited to be a part of their story.

In January of 2023, Dane and Alyssa visited North Carolina. Dane already had the ring and planned it well in advance. When the time came, Dane had to persuade Alyssa to stop at the beach as it was January and cold, Alyssa was not excited about the beach. While it is difficult for Dane to sneak away from Alyssa, he somehow made it to the car to grab his "jacket" but was grabbing the ring. While Alyssa was pouting about being cold, Dane was behind her asking a stranger to record the proposal. He got on one knee and opened the box the wrong way, breaking the hinges on the ring box! Obviously, she said YES!

Since the proposal, Dane and Alyssa have embarked on their careers. Alyssa is working at Federal Probation and Pretrial, and Dane is a Real Estate Agent. In August 2024, they bought a house in Anchorage, Alaska. And soon thereafter, added a fur baby to the mix. They adopted the chunky 3-year-old Moose in September 2024. He is a Great-Pyranese/Husky mix who loves to eat and sleep! Alyssa and Dane love traveling, camping, and snow machining in the winter. They are excited to continue building their life together by tying the knot this winter!
