Activities

While we are planning on having as much fun as possible at the campground (lawn games, BBQs, paddling) there are TONS of activities to do while you are visiting - and if you want to extend your trip.

Regional Map of Things to Do

Click the link for a great map of other local things/places to check out.

Red's Eats

41 Water Street, Wiscasset, ME 04578
, (207) 882-6128

A short drive from the campground, Red's Eats is considered the best lobster roll in the country. Be prepared to stand on line.

Hot Suppa

703 Congress Street, Portland, ME 04102
, (207) 871-5005

One of our favorite restaurants - not authentic New England food, but REAL GOOD southern food (yes. In Maine. yes. I'm sorry Laura.)

Js Oyster

5 Portland Pier, Portland, ME 04101
, (207) 772-4828

If you want a fun, low-key seafood experience after you land, come here. It's run by women and they pull fresh seafood out of a hole in the floor.

Boothbay Harbor

Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538

Boothbay Harbor is an amazing little area - lots of boat rides to see seals and puffins, kayaking, great restaurants, and a cute shopping and museum district. Def worth the day trip if you have time.

Damariscotta Pumpkinfest

Main Street, Damariscotta, ME 04543

Annual Pumpkinfest 10 minutes down the road from the wedding in a very cute town!

L.L. Bean

95 Main Street, Freeport, ME 04032
, (877) 755-2326

LL Bean is open 24/7! The entire campus takes over downtown Freeport and is gorgeous with tons of shopping and things to see.

Eventide Oyster Co.

86 Middle Street, Portland, ME 04101
, (207) 774-8538

In Portland also, considered one of the best places to get seafood (if not THE best) in AMERICA.

The Highroller Lobster Co.

104 Exchange Street, Portland, ME 04101
, (207) 536-1623

One more place in Portland - for a fun twist on the local flavor. Great beer list as well!

Five Islands Lobster Co

1447 5 Islands Road, Georgetown, ME 04548
, (207) 371-2990

ANOTHER famous lobster place!

Boothbay Harbor Maine Puffin Cruises

44 Commercial Street, Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538
, (800) 636-3244

Fun cruise out of Boothbay where you can see seals and puffins.

Moody's Diner

1885 Atlantic Highway, Waldoboro, ME 04572
, (207) 832-7785

Maine Diner famous for the pie. Very close to the campground.

Pemaquid Point Lighthouse Park

3115 Bristol Road, Bristol, ME 04558
, (207) 677-2492

At the very tip of the landmass the campground is on, you can check out a lighthouse and a Maine painful beach.

Oxbow Brewing Company

274 Jones Woods Road, Newcastle, ME 04553
, (207) 315-5962

local brewery

Shuck Station Raw Bar

68 Main Street, Newcastle, ME 04553

We love the oysters that they pull out of this region. The guy who runs this place is great and the oysters are delish. There are also a lot of cute pubs and bistros along the stretch of Route 1-B in Newcastle (10 minute drive from campground)

Maine Maritime Museum

243 Washington Street, Bath, ME 04530
, (207) 443-1316

So we found out about this place while looking for venues - turns out it is a very cool little museum! Very visually stunning and in a great part of town.

For all the days along the way
