A short drive from the campground, Red's Eats is considered the best lobster roll in the country. Be prepared to stand on line.
One of our favorite restaurants - not authentic New England food, but REAL GOOD southern food (yes. In Maine. yes. I'm sorry Laura.)
If you want a fun, low-key seafood experience after you land, come here. It's run by women and they pull fresh seafood out of a hole in the floor.
Boothbay Harbor is an amazing little area - lots of boat rides to see seals and puffins, kayaking, great restaurants, and a cute shopping and museum district. Def worth the day trip if you have time.
Annual Pumpkinfest 10 minutes down the road from the wedding in a very cute town!
LL Bean is open 24/7! The entire campus takes over downtown Freeport and is gorgeous with tons of shopping and things to see.
In Portland also, considered one of the best places to get seafood (if not THE best) in AMERICA.
One more place in Portland - for a fun twist on the local flavor. Great beer list as well!
ANOTHER famous lobster place!
Fun cruise out of Boothbay where you can see seals and puffins.
Maine Diner famous for the pie. Very close to the campground.
At the very tip of the landmass the campground is on, you can check out a lighthouse and a Maine painful beach.
local brewery
We love the oysters that they pull out of this region. The guy who runs this place is great and the oysters are delish. There are also a lot of cute pubs and bistros along the stretch of Route 1-B in Newcastle (10 minute drive from campground)
So we found out about this place while looking for venues - turns out it is a very cool little museum! Very visually stunning and in a great part of town.
