The fact that Sammy did not know about the proposal is one of life's great mysteries. Either out of excitement or nervousness, Dan happily told everyone about his engagement plan. 

While vacationing on Cape Cod with family & friends for the week, Dan had coordinated the big day to make sure all went smoothly. The first night into their week long stay in Orleans, Dan and Sammy went for a sunset walk along picturesque Skaket Beach. Known for its breathtaking sunsets, long tide pools and an abundance of sea glass, Skaket beach is a real gem.

Photographers excitedly hid behind sea grass for the shot. Sammy tried to derail the whole proposal by insisting on taking a different path away from "the spot". Dan casually convinced her otherwise and the two walked side by side looking for sea treasures.

"Look at this shiny piece I found"! Dan shouts. "That's just a rock". Sammy jokes. At this moment, Dan got down on one knee and took out the real sea glass and asked her to marry him.
