June 12, 2021 will not only mark the beginning of a new chapter for Dan and Sammy as husband and wife, but it also shares the date of when their relationship became “official” in 2014 at a Red Sox game. The first verse was written three months earlier at a South Boston St. Patrick’s Day house party. Sammy was attending with some of her closest gal pals. Dan had high expectations for the Sunday Funday alongside groomsman, Matt Mazzola. The atmosphere that day was electric. Bagpipes, whistles and holiday cheers consumed the streets outside the East 8th St. apartment. Inside, things were heating up on the beer pong table as Dan and Matt put on a performance of a lifetime. Dan’s confidence was riding high but needed the extra pep talk from Matt to walk over and introduce himself to Samantha. It did not take long for the two to find chemistry and cut through the small talk. As the afternoon slipped away, Dan, in typical fashion had no battery in his cell phone. Ironically, neither did Sammy. Exchanging information may have kept these two apart if it were not for Dan’s ingenuity in writing Samantha’s number on a shamrock wall décor before parting ways. That shamrock would be all the luck the two needed to build a loving relationship together. Over the last seven years, Dan and Sammy have enjoyed countless memories. On their first date, food preferences and dislikes were quickly laid out on the table. As Sammy moved from neighborhood to neighborhood in South Boston, Dan was always there to unload and load until she found a condo on Bowen St. The secret to the foundation of love these two have built can be found in a balance of opposites. While Sammy likes to toe the line, Dan prefers a longer cast. Together, their personalities compliment one another without reservation. From waterfalls in Costa Rica to paddleboard yoga in Ft. Lauderdale and even dropping their fortunes in the Trevi Fountain in Rome, Dan and Sammy know what it means to live each day with a full heart.
