Ming's eldest, Melanie, has the playfulness of a monkey, the heart of a lioness, an extraordinarily adventuresome spirit and lots of common sense. Powerful independence is her hallmark. In college, Melanie acquired an off-campus home, a dog, and a professional job 20-30 hours per week. Creating a social media platform for a paint contracting company, she restored the company reputation and boosted sales - all while performing in school & centrally in her sorority. After college, (against parental pleading), she executed a 90 day solitary travel adventure through Central America, which resulted in a blog her mother wouldn't read and an online manual for young women traveling alone in dangerous countries. Now, a marketing manager in Austin, TX, Mel balances work, play & requisite adventure!

Ming's youngest (and the tallest!) of her three daughters, Emma, is smart, thoughtful, social, creative and excited to enter high school this fall. She loves animals and kids and has turned these passions into lucrative entrepreneurial ventures resulting in a seed fund for the purchase of her first car, which she anticipates with glee! Emma has leveraged her love of horses and coffee into her service work with Potters Field Ministries, serving in their horse camps, and at Fresh Life Church as a talented barista. A counselor at the leadership camp she recently attended, paid her a powerful compliment when he shared that "Emma has a mature way of combining her head, heart and gut in her decision making processes."
