A Long Expected Party

Meghan and Dan will be married at Camp Clark in Cloverdale, Oregon on Saturday, September 20th, 2025. We are hosting our families and friends for a potluck wedding weekend full of merry-making, food, song, and cheer! We'll be taking over the entire camp, which includes mini-Adirondack cabins, basic facilities, and over two miles of beautiful Oregon beaches. All guests are encouraged to stay with us for the entire weekend - there's more than enough room for everyone! We'll be adding more information about camping as the date approaches, and will also be including alternative lodging advice, hotel links, and recommendations for anyone who prefers to stay off-site.

As a Seattle-based member of the Portland pirate crew Dan founded, Meghan made the journey to Rockaway Beach in the summer of 2017 to join her fellow pirates in firing cannons, singing shanties, and heckling the good people of the Oregon Coast. After a rousing evening of beach adventures (rambling from one beach fire to the next and singing shanties with strangers), we enjoyed a moonlit walk on the beach back to the crew's lodgings together, talking about the long list of interests we shared and life experiences we had in common. A spark was lit that evening, and in the coming weeks, we began carving out more and more time to talk and, when possible, visit each other. Meghan finally moved to Portland in early 2018, so we would no longer have to conduct our relationship via texts, phone calls, and long drives along the I-5 corridor. We've been happily living together ever since. In time, that spark has become a strong and steady source of warmth, comfort, laughter and love for us both. On September 3rd, 2024, on the very beach where we first shared that moonlit journey home, Dan asked Meghan if she wanted to get married, and here we are! We have now shared seven years' worth of adventures, piratical and otherwise, from Meghan's former family lake cabin in Northern Idaho, to Dan's lifelong connection to hunting in the high desert of Eastern Oregon. We have pirated on both the Pacific and Atlantic coasts, and cannot wait to see what adventures lie ahead for us as we continue to chart our course together. We're so excited to share this next chapter of our lives together with our family and friends.
