How It Started

#WhateverWillBeWillBre

Our story started at a another wedding... Over Memorial Day Weekend, 2019 Maggie's cousin, Will married the love of his life, Breah, on Squam Lake in New Hampshire. Both Maggie and Dan were in attendance and worlds collided on the dance floor during the reception. There was a red dress, cowboy boots, and some priceless blurry selfies (see if you can find them in the Gallery). After the epic wedding weekend, Dan and Maggie kept in touch thanks to Maggie's cousin, Taylor who gave him her number. Dan found the pearl earring that Maggie lost, and wanted to return it to her in person. She visited New York City over the summer, and they met at The High Line for their first official date. After realizing the spark was still going strong, they planned several weekend trips to visit each other throughout the Fall in New York City and at Colgate University in upstate New York, where Maggie was a student in her senior year.

How It Went

In October 2019, Dan asked Maggie to be his girlfriend, and she shocked him with news that she would be traveling with her family on Semester at Sea for the next six months. Thankfully, that didn't scare Dan off, and instead he asked which country he should plan to meet her in so they could keep seeing each other. They had plans to reunite in Cape Town, South Africa in March 2020 when COVID struck. Just days before Dan was supposed to fly, the U.S. put a travel ban in place. To make matters more difficult, Maggie and her family got stuck in South Africa when the borders were suddenly closed and no commercial flights were allowed in or out. Three months of lockdown later, Maggie and her family finally returned to the United States thanks to a repatriation flight that took them on a multi-day journey across three continents. One of the first things Maggie wanted to do when she got back was to go visit Dan :) Dan had recently moved to San Francisco for a new job and Maggie visited him at his new place near Dolores Park. While spending time with Dan's family up in Marin, she was introduced to a family friend who also attended Semester at Sea and helped connect her with a job at an advertising agency. In August 2020, Maggie joined Dan in San Francisco and they started slowly building a life together. Life took a wonderful turn in February 2021 when Maggie texted Dan that she was going to pick up a Craigslist puppy in the East Bay and asked if he wanted to come. They immediately fell in love with Winnie who was only 6 pounds back then, a perfect Border Collie puppy who would become the center of their world <3 Since that major milestone, Maggie and Dan have continued to grow and support each other through life's changes. They moved in together in August 2022 and share an apartment in the Inner Richmond District, between Golden Gate Park and The Presidio, where they take Winnie on lots of walks.

How It's Going

Maggie and Dan always talked about being together forever. Dan made it official when he proposed in Tiburon on August 4th, 2024. The proposal wasn't exactly a shock, but Dan managed to plan a celebration with friends and family afterwards, which was sweet and impressive given how difficult it is to surprise Maggie ;) The new fiancés realized they didn't want to wait too long to get married and started the planning process a month after getting engaged. In October, they signed their dream venue in the Central Coast region and set the date for September 20th, 2025, less than 1 year away!

LOVE IS AWESOME

can't wait to celebrate with you!
