Pleasant Pond, Maine

Welcome to our Wedding

We cannot wait to celebrate our special day with you. Although it’s remote and barely on the map, we have chosen to have our wedding in Pleasant Pond, Maine because it is a very special place for us. For Ali, it is where she spent her childhood summers alongside her entire extended family. For Dan, it is reminiscent of his summers on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH and also where he was put to the “Maine boyfriend test” by Ali’s extended family. This tiny spot on the map is our happy place and we look forward to sharing it with our closest family and friends who we love so much. Let’s get this party started!

How We Met

It all started circa 2017. Dan was told that there was a girl that he needed to meet when he got back from school to NY for the summer. At the same time, on the other side of the galaxy in North Carolina, Ali was told there was a boy she should meet. After some awkward facebook messages were exchanged, Dan was successfully able to procure Ali’s phone number and set up a first date. Relying heavily on his NYC friends to do the actual planning, he took Ali on a walk down the high line (where they were later engaged) followed up by a very expensive meal for college Dan. Of note, he accidently ordered the full Brazino having zero idea what it was. Luckily for Dan, Ali was very impressed with his taste and class. The first date continued on to one of the finer watering holes of NYC, 1 and 1, (definition of a dive bar) where they had an incredible time and actually had their first kiss as they parted ways that evening. The two would only be able to see each other two more times after that day before heading back to school. But, as everyone here knows that was clearly not the end of the story. The two kept up their texting and phone calls and quicky realized that they were becoming important parts of each other’s lives. To attest to this growing fondness, Dan made an official home visit to the Sacchi’s during Christmas break. Dan was under the (mistaken) impression that he would be singing Christmas carols with the entirety of the Scott family (kudos to him for still going in the face of this daunting experience). Things got off to a rough start as Dan nearly choked to death on a tamale (made by Chesa) while meeting the parents for the first time, but things quickly got better as Dan realized he would not have to sing Christmas carols but instead would be going to the play “A Christmas Carol”. The evening was topped off by Dan losing his ticket to the parking garage and making Ali’s parents pay the full $50 parking to get his car out of the garage (they kindly offered to drive it home while Ali and Dan went to get a drink in town). Dan also hit a deer on his way home the next day. Despite a calamity of errors, the two made it official soon after and have not looked back since. After spending some incredible years in NYC, they have settled into engaged life in Ann Arbor. We cannot wait to celebrate our love with you next summer (hopefully with less errors this time)!!
