The weather is ALL over the place! Pack layers, it's crisp in the morning, HOT in the afternoon, and cool in the evenings. Oh and sometimes they call July monsoon season because it rains every afternoon. Not much, but just enough to maybe pack a rain coat or packable umbrella. I would google the weather averages the week before you come out to have a better idea!
It's high and yes it will. The base of the mountain in CB sits at 9,375 feet, while the town is at 8,885 feet. FYI - Chicago sits at 594 feet and Sydney, 19 meters (which equals 62 feet). You guys do the math. It's up there and your body will need to adjust. We recommend that everyone come out at least 48 hours prior to the wedding in order to "acclimatize" because the ceremony will be at the top of the mountain, or roughly 11,000 feet. We also suggest herbal supplements that are sold in town (not those kind of herbal supplements...) We will give you a packet in your welcome bag and info on where to buy more! :) xx Acli-mate is sold everywhere...we think this brand is better: Altitude Adjustment (sold at Mountain Earth Whole Foods in town and online http://www.altitude-adjustment.com/) Remember 1 drink on the mountain = 2 at sea level.
Please look to the "Schedule" tab. Under each event there will be a guideline as to what the bride and groom will be wearing so that you can dress accordingly. Or be bold, and be you. We love you and that's why you're invited so wear whatever you would like!
Here's how I would pack: Things you would wear if you were grabbing a burger with buddies. Things you would wear if you were going to hike up a mountain. Things you would wear if you were planning to go white water rafting. Things you would wear in an afternoon rainstorm. Things you would wear to an outdoor wedding on top of a mountain (look to pinterest for ideas). Things that keep you warm when the sun goes down and the temperature drops 40 degrees (farenheit talk). Think of the things you want to do while you're here and pack accordingly. But I would say at the very least, some type of appropriate shoes to walk/hike is recommended.
Well, we love it there! It's just a cute little ski town that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. The pace is a bit slower and you get to appreciate the little things. We can't wait to spend time with you all there!
No doubt you will want to know all of the details of where to be for the main event (the wedding). How to get there, where will the bus pick you up, etc! Well, the wedding is still pretty far out so we don't have answers to those questions. As soon as we do, we will update our website! We have a really great wedding planner so we are all in good hands!
There are a couple really great websites that will give you WAY more information than we ever could... https://travelcrestedbutte.com/ http://www.skicb.com/
When you arrive in Crested Butte we will have a Welcome Package awaiting you with all of the details in one place!
Yes it is! But there are still laws associated with the substance. I recommend you check out this website if you're interested in partaking. The finest local dispensary is called SOMA (or so I've heard from the town mayor himself). PLEASE NOTE: it is only legal in Colorado and they really watch for it being taken across borders (IE don't try to fly home with any - it will not end well). https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/marijuanainfodenver/residents-visitors
NO! But it looks like it! Damien handed his iPhone to some guy to take our picture while I asked his wife if I had any strawberry seeds in my teeth. I was SO clueless what was about to go down...So glad this guy was basically a professional photographer to capture our engagement.
