Welcome Aperitivo with a View

5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Ristorante del Sole
1 Via della Rupe, Perugia, Umbria 06121, Italy

Dressy casual

For our out-of-town guests! We're so excited to welcome you to Perugia, so we'll start with a classic Italian aperitivo (it's like American happy hour but with local snacks and Italian wine or cocktails) on a terrace overlooking the Umbrian hillside. Enjoy a drink on us and some light hors d'oeuvres. (Please see Sarah or Damiano when you arrive for a drink ticket.)

Wedding Ceremony

3:30 pm - 4:45 pm

Formal or Black Tie Optional. The charming town of Perugia and the grounds of the castle for the reception both have cobblestone, so if you wear high-heeled shoes, choose wisely!

PLEASE NO phones or photos during the ceremony. We would be very displeased if a phone beeps during our wedding. We also have great photographers, and prefer our photos have your faces in them instead of a background full of phones. There will be plenty of time to take photos afterward, so please turn your phones off during the ceremony to avoid any phones ringing or the temptation to take pictures. We will include more details soon on transportation to the ceremony, from the ceremony to the reception, and back to the hotels.

Reception

Fri, Sep 20, 2019, 6:00 pm - Sat, Sep 21, 2019, 2:00 am

Formal or Black tie optional

The reception will be in the style of a traditional Italian wedding party, which means you do not have to choose your meal now. You will be welcomed with a very large appetizer buffet and drinks (prosecco to toast and cocktails!) to be served in the gardens surrounding the castle overlooking the valley of Assisi. In the Italian tradition, this tends to be enough for a meal itself, but remember that a large, three-course meal and dessert will follow! Dinner will include two "first courses" (traditional, homemade pasta & a local risotto dish) and a "second course" (a meat dish), all inspired by the cuisine of the surrounding Umbrian hills and the autumn ingredients they provide (think: truffles!). You may choose to try any or all of the dishes that are served! But make sure to save room for the dessert buffet, wedding cake, and another surprise after dinner! Dinner drinks will include wine, coffee, and digestifs (limoncello, grappa, and various bitters), and an open bar will follow.
