What Is The Dress Code?

Answer

This is a Black Tie Preferred affair. We'd love to see our friends and family dressed up for our big day! Men - if you have a tuxedo please wear it. If you are inclined to rent one please do so. Otherwise, a dark suit and bowtie is appropriate! Ladies - a floor length gown or dress. With respect to the Chapel, avoid plunging necklines or high slits, and please leave the color white to the bride! Spring in DC can at times be unpredictable. Cocktails will be the only outdoor portion of the day, but the Chapel may be chilly. You may want to bring a shawl or light sweater/jacket.

What Time Should I Arrive For The Ceremony?

Answer

Dahlgren Chapel will open its doors for our guests to find their seats at 2:30pm. Our Ceremony will begin promptly at 3pm. A recommendation: If you choose to drive or use a rideshare service to the ceremony, we suggest allowing for extra time. Traveling through D.C. and onto campus on a Saturday can be busy. If you arrive early, you are welcome to explore the beautiful grounds of Georgetown.

Will Transportation Be Provided?

Answer

Complimentary transportation will be provided throughout the day. If you choose to rideshare please use the following address as drivers will correctly drop you off in front of the main gates, 1401 37th Street NW. If you are driving please use 3611 Canal Road NW to the parking garage. To the Ceremony Shuttles will depart from The Mayflower Hotel and transport guests to Dahlgren Chapel at Georgetown University. To the Reception Following the ceremony, shuttles will transport guests directly from Dahlgren Chapel to St. Francis Hall. At the End of the Evening Shuttle service will be available from St. Francis Hall back to The Mayflower Hotel. When completing your RSVP, you will have the opportunity to indicate which portions of the transportation you plan to use. The Mayflower will be the main pick up/drop off location however, all wedding guests are welcome to utilize the shuttles, regardless of whether you are staying at the hotel. Shuttle departure times will be added soon.

Is Parking Available?

Parking is available for a fee at Georgetown and is complimentary at St. Francis Hall. Please see the travel tab for a note on parking along with a link to the campus parking map.

While we absolutely love the children in our lives, this will be an adults-only celebration.

May I Bring A "Plus One"?

If you received a plus one, your guests name will appear on both your invitation and under your name when you go to RSVP.

What Can I Expect At A Catholic Wedding?

Answer

While Kyle grew up Catholic, Lauren was baptized into the Catholic Church in the Spring of 2026 and can empathize that it may feel overwhelming. Lauren and Kyle have prepared a program that will be available to our guests at the Chapel and, our officiating priest, Father David Dufresne will be guiding our loved ones through the service. In the Catholic faith, Marriage is one of the most important sacraments. The Nuptial Mass is a sacred liturgical celebration between two Catholics where the couple becomes husband and wife, receiving a special blessing for their new life together. The program will include traditions, readings, and music. For our non-Catholic guests who may be unfamiliar with the Mass, please know your presence, prayers, and warm wishes are the most cherished gift, and you are welcome to participate in all parts of the ceremony except for the reception of Communion.
