We met in November 2021 on Bumble, the good old dating app that saves you from awkward bar conversations. One of us was basically a love Pirate, aggressively pursuing FaceTime dates like it was a treasure hunt. The other was along for the ride! Allie took the plunge (literally, in the snow) and journeyed to Kansas City to make sure that I wasn't a catfish.. Unfortuantely, I was real, which crushed her dreams of meeting Nev and Kamie ;). The trip involved a snowstorm, some well-intentioned threats from a good friend of mine, and a first kiss that made my foot pop! BING! Our first date weekend was epic! We explored local sights, laughed so much, shared stories with ease, and Allie received a resounding approval from the friends she met that weekend. We both fell head over heels in love. Quite stereotypical.. but hey! You know how people say, "When you know, you know"? We’re living proof of that! Fast forward a few weeks and Allie met Avery, and they hit it off like two peas in a pod—if the pod were a sitcom. Once Allie decided I was worth the trouble & the distance, she proposed to Avery and I on Super Bowl Weekend 2024 (CHIIIEFFFSSS)! We survived a whopping 891 days of long-distance dating while living 369 miles apart before Allie moved to KC and we're so happy she did! We're beyond grateful for all the love and support we've received from everyone. We can’t wait to celebrate our love with all of you, preferably while eating sweets and dancing like fools!
