From Blowing Rock to Boone

Once you get on US-421 S/US-221N, stay on the road for about 9.5 miles. Use the on-ramp on the right to continue on US-221 N. Once on US-221 N most GPS will direct you to turn right onto Idlewild Rd, which is an option; however, to avoid 2 miles of narrow, gravel roads and stay on State maintained paved roads, follow these directions. This will add 3 miles; however, an easier drive. After turning left onto US-221 N, continue for 6.3 miles. Turn right onto Water Tank Rd., continue 3.3 miles. Turn right onto Lower Nettle Knob Rd., continue 2 miles. Turn right at The Barn on New River sign and veer left onto the Private Drive.

Venue Directions

Apple and Google Maps both recognize this address and provide accurate directions, but cell service can be spotty as you get closer to the venue. As long as your navigation stays active, it should keep guiding you, but we also recommend downloading or printing directions ahead of time. The last few miles of the drive is on a narrow dirt and gravel road, so you’ll definitely get the mountain driving experience! It may feel a little remote, but don’t worry, you’re on the right path. As you get closer to the barn, follow the signs to the parking lot and attendants will direct you to a parking spot.

Take a left out of the Holiday Inn, go .02 miles. Go straight at the light onto 163 for 3.6 miles. Turn right onto Nettle knob Road 1.5 miles. Turn left onto Lower Nettle Knob Road, go 3.2 miles. Turn right onto SouthFork Farm Lane
