Crystal's Version: Episode IV, A NEW HOPE It is a period of internet dating. Rebel gay ladies, striking from hidden bases (masked in dating websites!), have won their first victory against the evil Singleness Empire. During the battle, these Rebel gays managed to steal secret plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon, the LOVE STAR, AKA OK Cupid (Yeah, yeah, we know), a website for the lovelorn with enough power to bring two hearts together across an entire planet... or, well, Seattle and SLC. Pursued by the Empire’s sinister agents: time, distance... (or a stubborn insistence on NOT being in an actual relationship), Princess Holly races home to SLC aboard her starship, custodian of the stolen heart of Crystal that can save her from a solitary life and restore freedom to the galaxy…. Ok, Ok, so the true story is that we met online, and both our profiles said we were just looking for friends. Cause, like, we were. Holly, seeing that I said, in response to the question about movies, "INSERT LIST OF MOVIES followed by 'And, something, something StarWars'", opened with the Han-esque one-liner of "Hey." Soooo Smooth. I scintillatingly replied, "How's it going?" and the rest is intergalactic history. Ok. Ok. It got away from me again. After that, we talked, about "all the things" and knew every little detail, because we were both very much all about, "No Expectations"., and so we were just very real from the get-go. Before we ever met even once in person, she was in SLC and we (she!) just figured we would stop chatting: but... we never did. Fast forward some months, thousands of texts leading to phone calls, eventually video chat (internet dating version of PEN PALS, I swear), and watching-hockey-games-via-skype-dates later... Holly said to me, "That's it, you're the one for me, done and done." It was so sweet. I came to meet her for the first time in SLC and there was a very real leap of faith, as well as sharing of locations with besties (just in case, I AM a realist). Meeting her was the best thing ever. We had talked so much, it didn't even feel strange. Because, first and foremost, we had spent so much time becoming best friends. When I came for Christmas, she gave me an R2D2 ring, swoooooon, and told me that if ever I wanted to have a chance at a GOOD MARRIAGE, she's the one, but it's entirely on me. I took my time, in lady standards to think on that, and some time later, I asked Holly to be my wife. Like she said, "done and done." Holly's Version: We met online. I noticed her profile because she said she like StarWars, but she said her life was complicated. and we both said we weren't interesting in a relationship. But, anyone who likes StarWars deserves to be "holla'd at". So, we said "Hey", and the rest is history. <3 I love you. -Leia I know. -Han
