We recommend flying into Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos (ATH). The best time to book is between January to April. Tickets to Athens typically range between $1200-1800. Common airlines that travel to Athens are Delta, Emirates, and American Airlines. You can book a direct flight, or you may find a layover flight that is a little cheaper. Just make sure you choose a layover with at least 2 hours in between in case of any delays and navigating through the airport. From Athens, we recommend you book a flight to Ikaria Island National Airport Ikaros (JIK). We usually use Booking.com to book this flight. Tickets from Athens to Ikaria typically range between $150-220. Common airlines that travel to Ikaria are Sky Express, Aegean Airlines, and Olympic Air. The flight duration is 45-minutes. Please note that flights from New York City typically land in Athens early, and the gate for your Ikaria flight may not be posted immediately. Don't be alarmed; the gate information usually appears about 45 minutes before departure. For your return trip, you may need to stay in Athens for one night, as flights from Ikaria often depart later than those to New York. We recommend you to stay in the village of Therma. Therma is famous from the antiquity for its thermal baths and their unique therapeutic benefits. There are lots of hotels, restaurants, and things to do as well.
