FAQs

The Wedding Website of Catherine Scales and Daniel Crocker
Question

Where will the wedding festivities be?

Answer

We are getting married at Fort Street Presbyterian Church. Our reception will take place at The Roostertail on the riverfront.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Yes! Shuttles will run between our preferred hotels, the church for the ceremony, and the reception venue. At the end of the evening, shuttles will bring guests back to the hotels. The shuttle schedule will be posted on this website closer to the wedding.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

This is totally up to you! Detroit is the "Motor City," so depending on how much exploring you want to do in addition to the wedding activities, it may be easiest to get around via car. For the wedding activities, we will offer shuttles from our recommended hotels to and from the church and reception venue. Our recommended hotels are located in walkable areas so you will easily be able to grab a meal or drink without a car.

Question

Are my kids invited?

Answer

Yes! We are excited to celebrate with everyone we love of all ages.

Question

What food should I try while visiting Detroit?

Answer

Middle Eastern Food: Detroit has some of the best middle eastern food in the country. One of our favorites in Corktown is Supergeil which is more fusion Mediterranean / Eastern European If you have a car, venture into Dearborn for the most authentic middle eastern food. Hamido is the absolute best - get the Markouk Shawarma sandwich and thank me later. Polish Food: If you are craving pierogis, pop over to Hamtramck, MI. Hamtramck is a city within Detroit where you can get really good pierogis at Polish Village Cafe. Bring cash as it's cash only! Detroit Style Pizza: Invented back in the 1940's by using an automotive manufacturing steel pan, it's square and crispy with a light but thick crust. We frequent Como's in Ferndale. Or check out Grandma Bob's in Corktown or Elephant and Co in Midtown - which also happens to be a great local craft brewery tap house! Hot take - Buddy's is overrated so just avoid it... Coney Dog: You either love it or you hate it - but it's a Detroit staple worth trying once. You can get this at almost any diner, but the most famous ones come from American Coney Island or Lafayette Coney Island. They are right next to each other owned by dueling brothers - drama!!

Question

Will there be an After Party?

Answer

We are hoping to have one last drink at The Yard, an outdoor bar across the street from The Godfrey Hotel in Corktown.
