We were long distance for the first 4 years of dating, so we got to plan "meet in the middle" trips often. This was in Columbia, MO. Fun fact: Abby found our cat, Lily, at the end of this trip.

Abby earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in August 2019!

We went to a Pacer's game with some friends during one of Abby's trips to Indy while Brian was in medical school.

HAD to see a comedy show at Second City in Chicago. This trip was about a week before the world shut down with the pandemic in 2020.

Abby lovingly forced Brian to explore the Nature History Museum in Chicago so that she could see all the dinosaurs.

We took another trip to Chicago during the pandemic but still found a way to enjoy our Bailey's and coffee on a riverboat architecture tour (in the rain).

After Brian took his first board exam, we celebrated with a trip around Louisville, KY. Here we are touring Churchill Downs (in the pouring rain).

Abby and Brian trained individually and together for a half marathon they completed in April 2022. This was after a training run on the Monon Trail in Indianapolis.

We were so excited to find out that Brian matched into residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE where Abby was already working! The end of long distance was finally coming.

We did it! We completed the Beach & Bay Half Marathon in San Diego, CA in April 2022. We may look happy, but Brian threw up and Abby hobbled over in knee pain before taking this photo.

We celebrated completing our half marathon with a beautiful trip through the southern California wine country.

One of our favorite date nights is going to comedy shows. This was just before seeing John Mullaney in Omaha.

We are all incredibly proud of Brian's achievement in graduating from medical school! He graduated from Marion University in Indianapolis, IN.

We went on an amazing trip to Ireland with Abby's dad, Roger, over Halloween in 2023. Naturally, we had to stop at Guiness.

Highly recommend exploring Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland. This picture was taken by a tour guide who kindly informed us we weren't supposed to be that far out on the rocks, whoops!

Giant's Causeway had huge organ-like pillars as part of the surrounding rock formations.

I mean you can't really beat that. Ireland is gorgeous.

Fun fact -- we climbed a lot of stairs in Ireland.

When you are on a boat in Mexico, you are legally obligated to drink margaritas.

Forever wedding dates. This was from Brian's friend's wedding that he officiated. His new formal title is Reverend Dr. Brian Bristol.

Brian was successfully able to surprise Abby when he proposed on Sylvan Lake in Minnesota at the Kavanaugh Lake Resort. Brian's family has come to this resort for summer vacations since he was a kid.

Naturally, Abby was really excited and interrupted Brian while he was proposing. He got his point across, though.

Brian was very relieved after he proposed and Abby couldn't stop smiling!

Brian did an excellent job picking Abby's ring -- it's absolutely gorgeous. This was taken the day after we got engaged because Abby couldn't stop looking at it.

We took a much-needed cruise vacation in November 2024. This was the first vacation we had taken as just the two of us for about 2 years, so we had to get matching shirts.

We had a lot of fun at the headphone disco party on our cruise ship.

We are happier people when we are on a beach.

We took this picture at our first catering tasting during wedding planning. We loved the food so much, we booked this caterer!

Abby unfortunately had to buy a new car right before we moved up to Minnesota. But at least it's real cute! Brian helped Abby get through the process with the least amount of stress possible.

The second biggest grown-up decision we made after getting engaged was buying our first home in Little Canada, Minnesota. We LOVE our house.

We are trying to find the positives of cold Minnesota winters. One of those positives is outside ice skating with your friends.

If you can't recall, we are happier people by the water. Abby, specifically, is happiest by the ocean.

On a recent cruise in February 2026, we explored the dirt roads of Mexico and jumped ~20-30 feet into a beautiful cenote.

We got to celebrate one of Abby's best friend's weddings down in Florida together. It was a perfect weekend.

Our love language is relaxing together on the water with a drink in hand. This was taken during an excursion we took during our cruise. This excursion took place in a gorgeous part of Honduras.
