Their story began 7 years ago in a sleepy Iowa town where the two lovers first met. Matthew from Minne-SNOW-ta and Phyllis from Sunny So-Cal. She was drawn to his wild curly hair while he was impressed by her tantalizing dance moves. After months of flirting they finally went on their first date. The pressure of medical school was relentless. Phyllis and Matthew found themselves letting loose with salsa dancing, endless coffee shop study sessions, and cozy evenings watching Friends. Their relationship matured when they needed to spend 1 year long distance. Though separated by many miles, they never ceased to do fun things together. It was the weekend getaways to Chicago, hippie hot springs in Colorado, and Harry Potter Marathons by the fireplace, where they fell in love. Fast forward 4 years, they finished medical school and moved to Minneapolis for residency training. Between long call days at the hospital, they found time to forge new memories like visiting each others families in England and Taiwan, learning to sail, and practicing medicine abroad in Madagascar. One of their most memorable experiences was in Tulum, Mexico where the couple spent a week scuba diving and dancing the nights away. Now that their medical training is coming to a close, they are ready to start a new chapter in life - marital bliss. This is where they want to include you all in their story.
