In Courtney's very unbiased opinion, UVA is the prettiest college campus in the country. Along with Monticello, it is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Take a free tour of the Rotunda or just stroll around Thomas Jefferson's "Academical Village".
Charlottesville Historic Downtown Mall
Charlottesville's downtown pedestrian mall is lined with a variety of shops and restaurants. It is a great place to grab a meal or an after-dinner drink.
Monticello
Visit the primary plantation of Thomas Jefferson at Monticello, a typical must-see site for first time Charlottesville visitors. Tours are offered several times an hour.
Wineries and Breweries
You'll never go thirsty in Charlottesville. There are a ton of really great wineries and breweries either right in the heart of Charlottesville or a short drive away. Some of our favorite wineries include Pippin Hill, Blenheim (owned by Dave Matthews), and King Family. Some good breweries right in Charlottesville include Champion and Three Notch'd. A little further out is Blue Mountain, Devil's Backbone, and Wild Wolf (Tomas and Courtney's favorite).
