Head to the beach and hunt for Petoskey stones! Petoskey stones are actually fossilized coral from over 350 million years ago during the Devonian period when Michigan was covered by warm sea water. Look for Petoskey stones at Fisherman's Island State Park, McSauba Recreation Area/ North Point Nature Preserve, or right downtown at Michigan Beach.

Charlevoix's Cultural Corridor celebrates the rich heritage and artistic spirit of the region. The corridor features the Circle of Arts, Harsha House Museum, and Public Library.
A trip to Charlevoix would not be complete without a tour of Earl Young's mushroom houses. This self-taught architect designed houses out of large boulders and cedar shakes, creating whimsical designs.
Head to Travers City and check out some of the local wineries! We love visiting Mari Vineyards, Brys Estate, and Chateau Chantal. During our last trip, we visited Rove Winery at the Gallagher Estate which was a hidden gem! Even Koda tried a sip of their frosé!
