Really black tie still? Heck ya! Covid can't take away our reason to dress up plus I know some of you already bought your dresses ;) Women - think LONG dress that touches the floor. Not quite Effie Trinket in the Hunger Games but close. Guys - think a tux or at least a matching dark suit. If you want to rock the bow tie, do it! The wedding party will be in black so we are encouraging you to wear a fun color!
COVID did some of yall a favor! The OG wedding was actually 65 minutes and all things church-y. Due to the fact that we had our OG wedding during the craziness of 2020, our wedding 2.0 service will now be a vow renewal. This should only take ~33 minutes (yes, that was the actual time estimated by the priest). The church is truly beautiful and we hope you join us for this much shorter service.
Love it. Transportation will be provided from Adolphus hotel to the church and from the church to the reception (only a 12 minute drive - mom's rules). Please remember to RSVP on here if you think you will use our transportation! Shuttles will leave the hotel at 4:45pm (check back for updates as we get closer) for the church ceremony. Shuttles will start immediately following the service to the reception at the Tower club. The reception is walk-able to the host hotels (see map on Travel page). Dallas is also a very Uber friendly city. I have never waited longer than 6 minutes for one at any hour. Downtown parking at the hotel and other areas is expensive so consider this before renting a car.
No. We understand this may rub some people the wrong way but there are no children allowed at the ceremony or the reception. We want this to be your night off! Plus with all the working from home and home schooling, you deserve a break! Please respect our wishes and leave the kiddos at home. A kid is anyone not old enough to drink.
Parking @ church: Put in St. Matthew's Cathedral into Waze/Google Maps (5100 Ross Avenue, Dallas, TX 75206). It is not in the best area. Heading NE on Ross you will pass (on the right) a Popeyes and then a TitleMax before the turn off for the church. Pass the church. That open parking lot at the light is where you are going! Turn Right on Henderson. There will be a Fiesta on your left, there is a turn in for the parking lot on the Right (it's further than you think) in front of the playground. Follow the road to the diagonal spots. Park there. It is free and I have never had any problem there. Do NOT leave your car there overnight and parking is free.
For Tower Club/Santander Tower (1601 Elm St, Dallas, TX 75201). These will put you on the correct side for access to parking. [If you are Ubering USE THIS address: 1660 Pacific Ave] Once you're on Elm, pass Chase building and 711. Be in the Right lane! Cross Ervay St, the building you are looking for is very close and the turn off is VERY easy to miss. The building has ‘wework’ on the furthest corner. The back of the giant eyeball statue is on the left. Turn Right immediately at the end of that building (before Stone Place Crosswalk sign), there will be a ramp down. That is the correct place! Take a ticket and go allllll the way down to B4 level. Parking spots are small and turns are tight. Park wherever. Be sure to BRING YOUR PARKING TICKET with you to the reception as they will validate your parking. Take the elevator to 1. In that same elevator bank, go to the little computer stand. Press floor 48. Then it will tell you what elevator to get on.
