Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Corinne Riley and David Liu
We're excited to share some of our favorite places in the area with you. We invite you to explore Florence and its beautiful surroundings, if you have time.

Within Florence:

Florence Sights and Activities

Florence Sights and Activities

We highly recommend going to the Uffizi, seeing Piazza della Signoria, Giardini di Boboli, and eat a lot of food :) You can even do an Aperol Spritz tour around Florence. You may think - Corinne, this is not an activity? But actually, IT IS! Going to a rooftop and drinking a cold orange drink while looking at an 800 year old Duomo is a full-time job. https://www.visitflorence.com/itineraries-in-florence/two-days-in-florence.html https://www.ricksteves.com/europe/italy/florence-itinerary https://thereshegoesagain.org/florence-itinerary/ https://www.ytravelblog.com/2-day-florence-itinerary/

With extra time to explore Florence's surroundings, here are some ideas:

Viareggio (Corinne's Hometown)

Viareggio (Corinne's Hometown)

Corinne's hometown, about ~1 hour away from Florence by train (nonstop). Also nearby is the well-known town of Forte Dei Marmi. Go here if: - You want to get to the bottom of the question of "why is Corinne this way?" - You are DONE seeing Madonna and Christ / cannot stomach another 14th century church - You've been to all these other places before and want something new - You want to actually relax and lay on the beach

Cinque Terre (~2 days)

Cinque Terre (~2 days)

Liguria, Italy

Highly recommend if you have a few days before/after the wedding. You can go there by train, would recommend staying one night (although you could make it a day trip if you wake up early). Recommend hiking between the 5 towns, or taking the boat ferry. The Disney movie "Luca" was inspired by this beautiful place. Lucca (1 day)

Lucca (1 day)

Lucca, Tuscany, Italy

Go to Lucca by train and visit one of the last fully standing walled cities in Italy. This is also where Corinne went to conservatory. You don't need more than a day here, can easily train back and forth to Florence. It's famous for Buccellato, has great food, and you can bike along the walls

Other Tuscan Villages (~1-2 days)

Other Tuscan Villages (~1-2 days)

If you want to do 1-2 days car trip around Tuscany we recommend hitting up: San Gimignano (everyone loves San Gimignano, kind of in a way that I honestly cannot explain), Volterra, Siena, Montalcino, Montepulciano, etc. https://www.visittuscany.com/en/ideas/10-towns-in-the-florence-area/ https://www.oliverstravels.com/blog/most-beautiful-towns-and-villages-in-tuscany/ https://www.guidemeflorence.com/2023/09/13/florence-and-surrounding-area-places-towns-to-visit-near-florence/

For all the days along the way
