We know that planning a trip, especially for a wedding, takes time, money, energy, and coordination. Whether it’s taking days off work, arranging childcare, booking travel, or just stepping away from your day to day, we recognize that it’s a lot to ask. As much as we would love to have everyone we care about in one place, we also completely understand that it’s not possible for everyone. Life is full, and we hold no expectations. If you're unable to make it, please know we deeply appreciate your love and support from wherever you are. Your presence in our lives means everything, whether you're with us on the coast or cheering us on from home. And if you are able to make it we truly can’t wait to celebrate together and make memories we’ll hold onto forever. Either way, we’re so grateful to have people in our lives who care about us and our story. That alone means more than we can say.
Flight
San Francisco International Airport
San Francisco is the closest airport to Westport, CA. For all our Arizona friends and family there are multiple non-stop flights daily from Phoenix Sky Harbor to San Francisco International Airport with flight time just around 2 hours. The coastal village of Westport is located 3.5 hours North of San Francisco by car.
Rental Car
Rental Car Center
For guests flying into San Francisco International Airport (SFO), we recommend renting a car from the SFO Rental Car Center. It's easily accessible via the free AirTrain Blue Line, which runs directly from all airport terminals to the rental facility. The Rental Car Center houses a variety of major companies, including Enterprise, Hertz, Budget, Alamo, and more—so you’ll have plenty of options to choose from. Whether you're looking for something compact and budget-friendly or a larger vehicle for extra comfort, there’s something for every travel style and price point. Having a car will make the drive to our wedding location much easier and give you the flexibility to explore the beautiful Northern California coast during your stay. Keep in mind: SFO is a major and busy airport, so wait times at the rental car counters can vary quite a bit depending on the time, day, and rental company. When we last visited, our pickup was quick, but we did notice other lines that were much longer so please plan accordingly, especially if you're flying in on the same day as any wedding events.
Travel Note
Routes from San Francisco to Westport
Once you land in San Francisco, you’ll make your way up the coast. There are a couple of different driving routes you can take depending on your preferences. Option 1: The Quick & Easy Route – via Highway 101 This is the most straightforward and fastest route (about 3-3.5 hours). You’ll take Highway 101 North through wine country and redwood forests. It’s mostly highway driving with smoother roads and fewer curves. Ideal if you're arriving close to an event time or prefer a more direct trip. Option 2: The Scenic Coastal Route – via Highway 1 If you prefer more of a scenic coastal route you’ll head up the Highway 1, passing through charming coastal towns like Point Reyes, Bodega Bay, and Jenner, with breathtaking views of cliffs, beaches, and the ocean along the way. This route is about 4-5 hours depending on traffic and stops. If you are looking to make more of a day with stops along the way this is a great option to explore the coast. Keep in mind: This route is very curvy and winding in parts, so it may not be ideal if you get motion sickness or prefer a straighter drive. Option 3: A Balanced Scenic Route – via Highway 128 to Highway 1 This option combines some inland driving with coastal beauty. From San Francisco, you can take Highway 128 East through Anderson Valley filled with wine region, rolling hills and peaceful country roads before connecting to Highway 1 near Mendocino and continuing north to Westport. This route is about 4.5-5 hours and offers a nice mix of countryside and coastline, often with less traffic and fewer tight turns than the full Highway 1 coastal route. A Note About Mendocino County Roads No matter which route you choose, please be prepared for winding and sometimes narrow roads throughout Mendocino County. These roads can be beautiful but require careful driving and extra attention. We recommend allowing yourself plenty of time, driving safely, and taking breaks if needed.

Lodging Options
Westport is a quiet small coastal town with very little lodging options. There are a few Airbnbs, VRBOs in the area but most of the lodging is in Fort Bragg (about a 20 minute) drive away from Westport. There is a wide variety of hotels and Airbnbs in town. About 15 minutes further out is Mendocino, with more of a downtown to explore and more hotel options if needed. We recommend staying in these hotels or Airbnbs near Westport for easier commute to and from the venue. Below are a few different hotel and location options.
