Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Corie Gonzalez and Aryan Shahsavari
We recognize that Westport is a bit of a journey, and we’re so grateful you’re making the trip to celebrate with us. Whether you’re planning to arrive early or stay a little longer after the wedding, we highly recommend making a full trip out of it and exploring everything this beautiful part of California has to offer. From iconic San Francisco neighborhoods to the rugged, redwood-lined Mendocino coast, there’s no shortage of scenery, food, and local gems to discover along the way.

Explore San Francisco: Golden Days in the Bay

If you're flying into or spending a night or two in San Francisco, here are some highlights to check out before heading north to Westport. Alcatraz Island – Tour the historic prison via ferry (book in advance). Painted Ladies – Famous Victorian houses at Alamo Square with skyline views. Neighborhoods to Explore: North Beach – San Francisco’s Little Italy, filled with cafés and restaurants. The Mission – Known for colorful murals, taquerias, and Dolores Park. Haight-Ashbury – Vintage shops and 1960s counterculture history. Chinatown – Great markets, architecture, and classic dim sum. Parks and Views: Golden Gate Park – Larger than Central Park, with trails, gardens, and museums. Lands End – Ocean cliffs, coastal trails, and views of the Golden Gate. Twin Peaks – Drive or hike for panoramic city views.

Explore Mendocino: Where the Ocean Meets the Trees

The Mendocino coast is full of natural beauty, perfect for exploring before or after the wedding weekend. Whether you’re into hiking, camping, scenic drives, or just enjoying the ocean air, there’s something for every pace. Glass Beach (Fort Bragg): A one-of-a-kind shoreline covered in colorful sea glass. MacKerricher State Park: Oceanfront trails, tide pools, and wildlife viewing. Jug Handle State Natural Reserve: Lush forest hikes with a peaceful atmosphere. Russian Gulch State Park: Coastal trails, a sea cave blowhole, and a hidden waterfall. Montgomery Woods: A tucked-away redwood grove with serene walking paths. Mendocino Headlands: Panoramic ocean views and cliffside walking trails. Skunk Train: Take a ride (or railbike) through ancient redwood forest—great for all ages.
