Our Flights are Booked! Our Flights are Booked!

Corey and Haley have booked the following flights and would love for you to join them! Departing Flight – November 10th American Airlines AA1003 Denver (DEN) - Miami (MIA) [Layover] - San José, Costa Rica (SJO) Departing Denver at 11:59PM on November 10th Landing in San José at 10:25AM on November 11th Return Flight – November 17th American Airlines AA1080 San José (SJO) - Dallas (DFW) [Layover] - Denver (DEN) Departing San José at 3:00PM on November 17th Landing in Denver at 11:37PM on November 17th The best way to travel from Denver to Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, involves a combination of flights and ground transportation. Start by booking a flight from Denver International Airport (DEN) to Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San José, Costa Rica. Several major airlines offer daily flights, though many include a layover. Once you arrive in San José, Manuel Antonio is about a 3-hour drive away. You have a few options for this leg of the journey. Renting a car is an option if you prefer the flexibility to explore independently, though parking can be challenging. Alternatively, you can book private or shared shuttles. The final option is a short domestic flight from San José to Quepos (the closest town to Manuel Antonio) with local airlines like Sansa or Nature Air, followed by a quick taxi ride to your destination. If you choose the flight, be sure to review the baggage limitations for this leg of your journey. Corey and Haley will be landing at SJO on Tuesday, November 11, and flying home on Monday, November 17 (allowing a recovery day after the open-bar wedding which we highly recommend for everyone!). We plan to take a shuttle to the villa with all the villa guests upon arrival. If you’re able to get on the same flights as Haley and Corey and would also like to take the shuttle, please let Haley know so she can try and arrange additional shuttles for hotel guests. This will be dependent on interest and number of people.

Info for renting a car in Costa Rica -Renting a 4x4 vehicle is recommended as rural and remote areas may have unpaved roads with potholes, steep inclines, or narrow bridges. -Road signage is inconsistent, and addresses are often based on landmarks rather than street names. GPS or apps like Waze are invaluable for navigating. -Costa Rica has strict traffic laws, including speed limits and rules for seat belts. Police checkpoints are common, so make sure to carry your passport (or a copy) and driver’s license while driving. -Gas stations are widely available in populated areas, but if you’re driving in more remote locations gas stations can be sparse. -Be cautious of sudden weather changes, especially in the rainy season, as heavy rains can create slippery conditions or wash out roads. -Parking in Manuel Antonio can be a challenge. The area is small, with narrow roads and limited parking near popular attractions like the national park or beaches. Many hotels and restaurants offer parking, but spaces can fill up quickly, especially during peak tourist seasons. Public parking lots are available near the national park and beaches, and attendants are usually on-site to guide you. It’s customary to tip them a small amount (about ₡1,000–₡2,000 or $2–$4) for keeping an eye on your car. -When renting a car in Costa Rica, it’s essential to be aware of the mandatory government-required insurance, known as third-party liability (TPL). Many rental companies advertise very low rates that don’t include this mandatory insurance. Make sure to choose a rental option that explicitly includes the required insurance.. If you prefer to avoid the hassle, taxis, shuttles, Ubers and walking are convenient alternatives for getting around.
