Our Love Story It was the fall of 2015... Kristen and Corban were seniors in high school. Corban, living in Asheville, North Carolina, and Kristen, living in Lindstrom, Minnesota, both unknowingly decided on attending the same college: Liberty University. One day, while scrolling through Instagram, Kristen saw a picture of an incoming freshman on the Liberty soccer team and decided to follow him. Corban followed her back but never reached out. After they graduated, Corban moved to Lynchburg in May of 2016 and posted a picture in his practice uniform. Kristen saw it, saved it, and shared it with friends. However, once they both arrived for their fall semester, they each began relationships with other people, and still, never reached out to each other. Seven years went by. Corban transferred schools, lived all over the country playing soccer, and eventually moved to Illinois for work. Kristen worked a variety of jobs across the Southeast and had been living in Nashville, TN for the last few years as a nanny and marketing coordinator. During that time, Kristen had unfollowed Corban, so both were completely unaware of each other. In September of 2023, Corban decided it was time to come home. He missed the South and was debating between moving to Nashville or Charlotte. But fate made that decision much easier. On September 15th, Corban suddenly appeared on Kristen’s Instagram “suggested follows” list and she recognized his name. She followed him again, and this time, Corban didn’t miss the opportunity. He messaged her: “Hey :) When did you go to Liberty?” After messaging back and forth for a few days, Corban asked Kristen if she would be open to a FaceTime date. While driving home from a football game on Tuesday, September 19th, they FaceTimed for hours, getting to know each other. After that call, Corban told his parents he was confident he had just met the girl he was going to marry. About a week later, Corban visited Nashville for their first date at Bottle Cap, and that’s when he knew for sure. He started looking for jobs in Nashville, and about two months later, he asked Kristen to be his girlfriend. Just two weeks after that, he officially made the move. Almost exactly a year after Kristen followed him again on Instagram, on September 7th, 2024, Corban asked Kristen to marry him, and thankfully, she said yes. It is now the fall of 2025, and their wedding date is less than a year away. Ten years ago, a girl from Minnesota followed a guy from North Carolina, and now they are looking forward to a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure as husband and wife.
